Chapter 4: A Commander's Duty

As we all kept walking, we had finally gotten to the coordinates that Shifty had sent us. And...nothing. There was no signs of a fight happening at all or any sign of a struggle. However, someone else clearly thought otherwise. "They're here." Marian said in a dry tone.

"What? What are you talking about? There is no damage signs anywhere and not even a part of a Nikke is here." Anis countered. However, Marian didn't acknowledge her at all.

"Let's look around." Marian said before walking away from you. You had found it strange. Marian before this point was always directly by your side, but now she has started to walk by herself? Also, she looked like she was...not awake. She walked rather slowly, swayed from side-to-side a lot, and you saw that her eyes were barely open. It was almost like she was sleepwalking.

Apparently, you weren't the only one to notice. "Hmm? What is she doing? She looks like she is about to fall over." Anis commented. As you just watch Marian struggle to merely walk in a straight line, Shifty comes back.

"It took a little longer than I thought, but I've finished analyzing the black box from the crashed ship. I'll send you the report now." Shifty told all of you before forwarding the report to Rapi first. Upon receiving the report, Rapi took a few seconds to read the report before her eyes flashed open for a moment and she started to point her gun...towards the stumbling Marian.

Quickly in shock, you went over to Rapi and gripped her gun. "Woah, woah! Rapi, what do you think you are doing?! That's Marian!" you yelled at her, but her gaze never let Marian.

"Marian, start talking or else I will have to put a bullet between your eyes!" Rapi threatened before continuing. "The report said that two different explosions happened inside of the transport ship. Those were from the explosives that were going to be used for this operation and they should have never gone off without an external detonation signal meaning for them to blow up. That detonation signal originated...from you, Marian! So talk!"

It was at this point that you had let go of Rapi's gun and looked at Marian. The same person that had woken you up from the crash and saved your life defending you...was the one that set up the crash in the first place?

It was at this point that Marian had turned back to the group. "We're here. We're here." Marian repeated again and again like a heartbeat, as her eyes became more red and her movements became more realized. "Over here. Over here. Over here. Over here. Over here."
