As the team returned to the villa in the middle of the night, a soldier stood waiting for them at the entrance. He directed Madison to an urgent meeting with Capo, before he left. The rest of the team stood right inside the entrance, all silently grateful not to be in Madison's shoes. She was the one who had to tell Capo that three lives were lost.
After the blonde left, the injured soldier headed to the med bay, and Massimo noticed the blood dripping from Derek's side.
"Dude, what the hell? Were you shot?" Massimo's eyes widened in concern as he saw the blood. Derek was applying pressure on his side with his hand, but the blood was still dripping. Noelle glanced at him with furrowed brows, wondering how she hadn't noticed earlier.
"Yeah," he admitted, "I should probably get that checked out."
"You think?" Noelle rolled her eyes, exhausted after a long day. All she wanted was to sleep for a few days, and not think about William and Carlos or what they just went through.
She followed Derek to the med bay, and grabbed some painkillers and sleeping aids before heading towards her room. She wasn't sure where Mac was, so she stopped by the blonde's room on the way. Opening the door carefully, she was met by Marley's gaze, while Mac seemed peacefully asleep.
"Is he back?" Marley asked anxiously, referring to Massimo, while getting out of the bed and to the doorway where Noelle stood. The dark-haired girl nodded, and the relief was evident in Marley's eyes.
"Good," she sighed in relief.
"Alright. So, if you want to go to him, I can stay here," Noelle suggested, seeing Marley almost trip where she stood.
"Only if you don't mind," Marley said, before practically running towards Massimo's room.
Noelle sighed, and crawled into Mac's bed, snuggling next to the blonde. She laid on the side that didn't hurt, and put an arm protectively around the blonde, and drifted into deep sleep as soon as the effect of the pills kicked in.
"You're back," Noelle was woken by Mac's soft voice around noon time. The blonde turned to face Noelle, and inched closer, which made Noelle slightly growl in pain.
"I told you I would," the dark-haired girl smiled and planted a kiss on Mac's forehead. The sight of her friends laying bloody and dead in the van flooded back into her mind, but she shook it away and focused on her girlfriend instead.
"Everyone else?" Mac looked her in the eyes, and she could tell from the shift in Noelle's expression that not everyone made it. Before Noelle could answer, her phone rang from the nightstand. Madison's name flashed on her phone screen.
"Yeah?" Noelle said.
"Get to the private meeting room, now," Madison's voice was exhausted. She had been up all night, dealing with the dead bodies and everything else.
Noelle glanced at Mac with a silent apology in her eyes, before ending the call and getting out of bed. She quickly put on some of Mac's oversized clothes and made her way to the meeting room.
As she entered the room, Madison was seated at the head of the table. Derek and Massimo had also just arrived.
"What's going on?" Noelle asked, taking a seat next to Derek, who looked slightly better than yesterday.
Madison sighed heavily before speaking. "Capo will join us shortly to discuss our next steps."
A silence washed over them, and no one seemed to find the words to say. Derek played with his fingers, Noelle with a hair tie she had around her wrist, Madison was lost in her thoughts, and Massimo's leg was tripping.
