Mac, Marley, and a few friends from their class gathered outside the stadium as the sun began to set. The evening air was cool and crisp, filled with the electric anticipation of game night. The stadium lights illuminated the field, casting long shadows across the bleachers, which were filling up with students and parents, all eager to see the game.
"Ready for some football?" Marley asked grinning, as they made their way toward the entrance.
"You bet," Mac replied, her eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of Noelle.
Marley noticed Mac stopped as the rest of the small group entered the stadium. "You coming or what?"
"Yeah, I'm waiting for Noelle, but go ahead, and save us some seats," Mac said. She felt a flutter of nerves in her stomach, wondering if Noelle would show up. She said she would, but she hadn't heard anything from her since yesterday.
She didn't have to wait long before she spotted Noelle approaching with Derek and William. She looked stunning, dressed perfectly for the occasion in a football shirt beneath her jacket, and jeans that highlighted her figure. Her hair was in a high ponytail, with a few strands framing her face.
"Hey, you made it!" Mac said and hesitated, unsure how to greet Noelle. The dark-haired girl smiled at Mac and wrapped her arms around her, followed by a quick kiss. Mac couldn't help but blush since it was in front of William and Derek, while Noelle didn't seem to mind.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Noelle winked, her eyes sparkling with warmth. "So, where's the rest of the gang?"
"They're inside, saving us some seats," Mac said, gesturing towards the entrance. "Let's go find them."
They made their way into the stadium, the roar of the crowd growing louder with each step. They found their friends near the front row, waving as they approached.
"Hey, guys!" Mac called out, slipping into the empty seat beside Marley, with Noelle on her other side.
"Noelle, this is Marley," the blonde said, gesturing to her friend.
Noelle leaned over Mac to shake Marley's hand, her arm brushing against Mac's shoulder, sending a shiver down her spine. "Nice to meet you, Marley," Noelle said with a warm smile.
"Nice to meet you too, Noelle," Marley smiled back.
"And these are William and Derek," Mac continued, quickly introducing Marley to the two guys, who were seated next to Noelle.
"Nice to meet you too," Marley greeted them cheerfully.
The game got off to a thrilling start, with both teams putting up a fierce fight, their rivalry showing in every tackle and pass. Jackson, the school's star quarterback, led the offense with skill and precision, driving the ball down the field with each play. The crowd cheered wildly with each touchdown, the sound echoing throughout the stadium.
As the game progressed, the tension on the field intensified. The opposing team was equally skilled, and the competition was fierce. Both teams fought hard for every yard. When the opposing team scored a touchdown to tie the game, a collective gasp rose from the crowd.
The first half of the game was intense, with both teams scoring and keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats. Every successful play by Jackson's team brought cheers from their section, with Mac and her friends joining in the excitement.
During a break in the action, Mac turned to Noelle. "Did you play sports in high school?" she asked.
Noelle nodded. "Yeah, I played soccer. I love the adrenaline rush of competition."
