Taylors POV:

I slowly awoke to the gentle warmth of sunlight filtering through the curtains, casting a serene glow across the room. Travis lay fast asleep beside me, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm, while our pet cats were curled up at the foot of the bed, enjoying there own peaceful slumber. My leg, with its stitches, remained propped up on pillows nearby.

As I attempted to shift and rise from the bed to use the bathroom and change, I felt Travis's arm still tightly wrapped around my body, holding me close like a cherished possession. Suppressing a giggle at his unconscious clinginess, I tried to extricate myself gently, but he only pulled me closer, muttering something unintelligible under his breath.

Finally, his eyes fluttered open, and he let out a sleepy yawn.

"Morning, sweetheart," he mumbled, sitting up slowly.

"Morning," I replied with a soft smile, reaching for my phone to check the time and any messages I had.

"I'll go order breakfast from somewhere. What do you want?" he offered, his voice still laced with drowsiness.

"Belgian waffles sound really good," I responded, feeling a pang of hunger at the thought.

"Whatever you want," he said with a warm smile before getting up from bed, grabbing his phone, and heading out of the room to make the necessary arrangements.

As the door clicked shut behind Travis, I quickly navigated to Tree's contact and dialed her number. Despite the early hour, I knew she'd likely been up for hours already—she was always on top of things, especially when it came to managing crises like this one.

To my surprise, she picked up on the first ring.

"Morning, Taylor," she greeted me, her tone somber.

"So, the fans are... well, let's just say they're not taking this lightly."

I chuckled wryly, understanding all too well the fervor of my devoted fanbase.

"Insane? Overzealous? Mobilizing a search party as we speak?" I offered, half-jokingly.

"Pretty much," she confirmed with a sigh.

"They're concerned, understandably. Should we issue a vague statement assuring them you're okay?"

"Yeah, that's probably for the best," I agreed, mentally preparing myself for the onslaught of questions and concerns from fans.

"And about pressing charges for assault..." I hesitated, the gravity of the situation sinking in.

"Did you find out anything about the guy who shoved me?"

Tree's tone shifted, indicating that there was more to the story.

"Actually, Taylor, it's... complicated. Your fans did some digging and found out that the guy has a history. He's been involved in some serious stuff—murder, to be exact. And he got away with it."

My jaw dropped in disbelief.

"Wait, what? He... he murdered someone?"

"That's the gist of it," Tree confirmed solemnly. "So, it looks like we might have to pursue legal action regardless."
