Hera sat beside Lucy on the boat, on her right was her cousin, four men rows the boat and by far sitting at the bow of the boat, was Edmund and Caspian. Her dark wild locks flowed freely in the breeze. Hera's sharp eyes missed nothing, scanning her surroundings with a mixture of vigilance and curiosity.
As they arrived at the dock, the men hurriedly get down first and settle the boat, Caspian reached out his hand and helped Hera. Edmund did the same with Lucy.
"Onward! The thrill of the unknown lies ahead." Reepicheep said in both thrill and excitement.
"Couldn't this have waited till the morning?" Eustace complained, his voice tinged with worry, nervousness and fear. Reep sighed and rolled his eyes for a millisecond before turning around and face the boy.
"There is no honor in turning away from adventure, lad." Reep answered.
"Wait" Hera said. Caspian raised his hand that halt everyone. Hera's frown deepened and looked at Caspian who was right behind her.
"Listen. I don't hear anything" She said in low voice. Caspian hand gripped his sword, in his side, tighter. The other hand, stopped Hera from walking first.
"Where is everyone?" Lucy asked.
"Come on, jelly legs."
"I'm capable of doing it myself. Oof!" Eustace said and tried to get off the rocky boat only to trip himself. Everyone turned to see him, face planted on a stone stairs.
"And you're certain he's related by blood?" Caspian asked exasperatedly. Lucy sighed helplessly at her cousin.
"I can see the resemblance" Hera spoke, smirking looking at Edmund who was looking with grimace at Eustace. When he heard what Hera said and caught her eye looking at him, he rolled his eyes knowing it was him she was pertaining about.
"Funny" Edmund rebuke flatly.
Caspian took the lead, taking out his crossbow, and Hera followed closely behind her hand resting on the hilt of her sword, every muscle tensed with readiness. The rest of the party trailed after them in a cautious stride.
Everyone jumped in fright when out of nowhere, a sound of church bell rang. Caspian and Hera looked at each other and nod.
"Reepicheep, stay here with Drinian's men and secure the place. We'll head on." Caspian ordered and as he and Edmund up to the entrance of the village.
"Reep, if we don't come back by dawn, send a party." Hera added.
"Yes, Your Majesty." Reepicheep answered. Hera looked at Lucy, before she could say, Lucy ran to her.
"I know. Eustace come on" Lucy said. Eustace wanted to complain but he minded that if he stayed, he'll stay with the rat and couple of scary men. He followed his elder cousin, at the very least, it is someone he knows.
Hera was about to turn when her eyes caught someone walk out behind Drinian.
"Harry?" She called. Lucy stopped and looked back. Hera, with wide eyes, stared, or should rather say glared, at her brother walking towards her.
"What on earth are you -I told you to stay back?!" She said.
"I know" Harry said. Hera scoffed and gritted her teeth.
