From the depths of the dark churning waters, emerged a monstrous figure, casting a shadow over the Dawn Treader. Its enormous body gleamed with sea spray, its serpentine form stretched impossibly long, each movement sending waves crashing against the ship. Its head loomed above them, grotesque and menacing. When it opened its maw, the sound that emerged was a low, grating roar. A forked, snake-like tongue flicked out, glistening and lethal, tasting the air as if savoring the fear radiating in ach sailor from the crew.

Sea serpent

Hera stood rooted to the spot, her hand gripping her crossbow so tightly her knuckles turned white. Her breath caught in her throat.

"Fuck..." she utters under her breath. The single word was barely audible over the beast's guttural roar.

"Come here!" Lucy exclaimed and ran to the girl to get her. The serpent slowly opened its maw until Eustace flew by with Reepicheep on his head, and breathed fire to the serpent.

"Archers! Get on your feet and fire on my mark!" Hera commanded, her voice cutting through chaos like a blade. She stood firm on the quarterdeck, her crossbow raised, eyes locked on the writhing mass of the sea serpent ahead.

"After Her Majesty!" Drinian bellowed, rallying the archers who scrambled into position. The crew, trembling but resolute, pointed their crossbows at the beast, awaiting Hera's signal.

Above them, Eustace the dragon, clung fiercely to the serpent's face. The creature thrashed violently, trying to shake him off. Its serpentine body lashed out, snapping the shrouds of the main mast like twigs.

"Now?" a sailor whispered, his hands trembling on the trigger.

"No!" Lucy replied instead.

The serpent twisted in fury, its movements nearly capsizing the Dawn Treader. With a final jerk, it flung Eustace off. He plummeted towards the sea, but at the last moment, his wings unfurled. He soared back in the air, narrowly avoiding the water's dark embrace.

"Now!" Hera shouted, releasing the bolt from her crossbow.

The archers unleashed their volley in unison, a storm of arrows hurtling toward the serpent. The projectiles struck its thick, scaled hide, but the beast bare flinched. Not a single roar escaped its monstrous maw.

"Eustace!" Lucy screamed as the serpent's coiled body lashed out. In a swift, horrifying motion, it seized Eustace in its jaws and dragged him under the waves. The serpent's massive form darted beneath the ship, its shadow darkening the waters below. It emerged on the other side of the ship, hurtling Eustace onto a jagged rock.

"Incendio!" Harry cast, thrusting his wand forward. A torrent of fire erupted from its tip, searing through the air toward the serpent. At the same moment, Eustace unleashed a blast of Dragon fire despite the pain he was feeling from being thrown into the hard rock, the twin flams engulfing the serpent's scaly hide.

"Archers! Aim your bows—and FIRE!" Hera commanded, her voice sharp and unwavering. She loosed an arrow, and the archers followed. The serpent recoiled. Letting out an ear-splitting roar before plunging beneath the dark waters.

"Let's not wait for it to return. Full sail off this island!" Caspian ordered, his voice cutting through the chaos.

"Aye, Your Majesty!" Sailors called back, scrambling up the rigging. The sails unfurled with a loud snap, catching the wind as a sailor spun the wheel turning the ship around.
