𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐍𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍, only to be met with the sight of complete darkness. She shot up from her crumpled position on the grated floor as she gasped in a sharp breath, the crisp air filling her lungs like it was the first time.

An overwhelming jarring sound of metal on metal echoed in her ears, pulling her completely out of the fog that consumed her mind. Her heart lurched, panic settling on her like a sheet of snow as whatever she was in began to move upwards at a swift pace.

After a moment of staggered breaths, she gathered all her courage and pushed herself to her feet, stumbling slightly as the metal box began to rock.

Her nostrils were filled with the profuse smell of oil and metal, the toxic scents ripping at her throat like knives. Goosebumps travelled down her trembling legs and a bead of sweat formed between her eyebrows. It was cold but she was sweating.

With her arms outstretched in front of her, her clammy fingers curled around the wired barrier that kept her enclosed. Her face pressed up against it, straining for a glimpse beyond. But there was nothing but darkness.

Suddenly a series of red and white lights flickered to life, bathing the darkness in a sinister glow. The metal box unexpectedly jolted and began to move upwards at a rapid pace, the sharp wind cascading down on her like water. The metal bars rattled as she began to continuously bang her fists on them in desperate hopes someone would hear.

"Help!" She screamed in a shrill voice, causing her throat to sting. "Someone, please!" No response.

Her lip trembled in frustration as she aimlessly glanced in every direction, searching for a way out of this nightmare she had found herself in.

Every breath she took began to feel like her last as she sank down to the floor in despair. Her quivering hands ran through her long hair in distress, tangles forming under her under fingers. She felt a pang of something in her chest, a feeling of betrayal but she couldn't remember why.

In an attempt to calm herself, she squeezed her eyes tightly shut and tried to dig into her mind. But she found that her brain seemed to become nothing but an endless empty tunnel. Flashes of images appeared as quickly as they left, but they only consisted of a sea of blurred faces. She felt as if her memories of everything were being drained from her quicker than she could grasp onto them.

She looked down at herself in hopes of triggering a memory about where she was, who she was and what was happening, but nothing came to mind. An overwhelming sense of dread consumed her. She wanted to cry with frustration, but no tears came. She could only sit there, alone, waiting.
