working in the BloodHouse, Madelyn had finally finished her work. She wandered out into the open Glade and sighed in relief, the smell of fresh air instantly filling her nose.

She began to walk across the Glade whilst looking down at her clothes which were now splattered with all sorts of dirt and mud. With her concentration on her appearance, she wasn't paying attention to where she walked causing her to bump into a broad shoulder.

"Watch where you're going man!" Gally spat before spinning his body around to face her. His expression was furious but once his gaze lowered and he spotted the girl his eyes softened. "Oh, it's you."

Madelyn took a step backwards, slightly taken aback by the boy's reaction. "Sorry." She mumbled.

Gally's eyes trailed up and down the girl's figure. "What the hell did they do to you in there?"

"You don't wanna know." Madelyn sighed out, finally looking up to him. "This might be a long shot as you all stink, no offence, but are there any showers around here?"

Gallys clips curled inwards before he cocked his head. "This way." And without another word he began to stride off towards the Homestead, Madelyn jogging closely behind him.

An awkward silence lingered over the pair as they made their way across the field. Madelyn wasn't sure on what to say to the uptight boy so instead she turned her focus to her surroundings. It was only mid afternoon which meant the large doors were still open and most of the boys were still hard at work.

"Here." Gally sighed out as he finally came to a halt outside a small wooden shack.

"Thanks, Gally." Madelyn flashed him a quick smile before pushing the creaky door open.

She wandered inside to see a cramped bathroom with only a small shower and a sink with a mirror above it.

That was the moment Madelyn realised she didn't actually know what she looked like. Anticipation churned in her stomach as she leaned over the sink and peered at herself in the mirror. She didn't know how she excepted to feel but as she stared into her own reflection she felt strangely empty. She felt as if she was looking at a stranger. She didn't feel connected to the person in the mirror.

It hard to tear her eyes away from the disorientating sight of her own reflection but eventually Madelyn managed to force them away. She tried to shake the feeling in the pit of her stomach away and finally turned the handle on the shower.

After her shower Madelyn wanted was some time to think. She was sitting under a tree in the deadheads with a clear view of the glade. The trees loomed tall above her, their branches swaying gently in the afternoon breeze. As she gazed over the field a strange sense of peace washed over her. The strange beauty of the scene before her filled her with a sense of awe and wonder and just for a moment she forgot about all the worries that plagued her mind. She pulled her knees up to her chin, feeling the cold breeze against her skin.

Her mind couldn't help but wonder back to the events of the past two days. She hadn't had much time to process it. The confusion of waking up in the glade lingered along with the frustration of not knowing who she truly was. She wondered how the boys seemed so okay with their situation, or how they were so okay with not being able to remember who they once were.
