So Percy arrived at camp with some red headed chick named Rachel.
He explained that they had ran into each other and a bunch of other stuff that I definitely did not pay attention to.
Rachel gave me this odd look and I didn't know why.
Then out of nowhere, she grabbed my arm and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. I almost screamed as green mist started coming out of her like she ate too many garlic onions for lunch.
You will head west to the place at the end
To discover what your heart desires
Unravel the mysteries with the help of a friend
Finally to learn the one who sires.
Then Rachel came back to life standing up straight seemingly forgetting that she had attempted to kill me. "What the fuck was that?" I asked.
"A quest," Annabeth answered as she stepped off the pegasus.
I didn't even know she had been there, but she was holding a Yankees hat which I guess was probably why. "A what now?" I asked.
Percy explained. "We were looking to find Rachel, to see if she'd be able to give you answers. I guess it worked better than we thought."
I froze. Wait... those words... did it mean I would finally discover who my father was?
Annabeth placed an arm on my shoulder.
"Just, don't get too high of expectations," she said. "This won't guarantee you'll get the answers that you want, but maybe it'll help clarify your questions."
I couldn't help but give her a big hug. "Thank you," I said. "I don't even know what to say."
"Just take us with you," Percy said with a grin as Annabeth elbowed him in his side.
"It's up to you who you take, but quests tend to work best in threes," Annabeth said.
I already knew who I wanted with me. I turned to Wisteria who was behind me. "Will you?" I asked.
Wisteria smiled and gave me a small kiss on the cheek. "Of course."
"And I guess I'll take Annabeth as my second," I said. "Sorry, Percy. But I'm definitely going to need wisdom for this."
So there we were Annabeth and Wisty going off to the west to discover who my father was... or at least... I hoped so.
Since we didn't even know where to go, we ended up driving. But what I'd discover on this quest.
That would change my life forever.
---
It wasn't until we hit Utah that anything exciting started to happen. We had been driving west, taking some rest stops for a few days and I was starting to think this was just a glorified road trip.
That was until, we hit a rock on the road and ended up with a flat tire.
Annabeth cursed because she was driving as she was forced to pull over and investigate.
We were pretty much smack in the middle of nowhere.
Busting our tire here was probably not the greatest.
When we stepped out of the car, the wind started to pick up a bit.
The dust from the road started to kick up and then it started to rain. "Just perfect," I said.
But as we looked there started to be small path dug up as the dirt and rain formed a small stream of water heading in a direction towards a big rock. At first, it might have been a coincidence, but I had the strange feeling like the water was trying to lead me where to go.
So as crazy as it might seem, I followed the water to the rock and began to examine it. I noticed a small triangle etched on the rock.
Annabeth gazed at it in surprise. "It wants us to go down in the maze," she said.
"What maze?" I asked and then I remembered. "Wait... you mean..."
Annabeth nodded.
Just then an entrance opened up and we went down it. And just like that we were in the labyrinth.
