Paintbrush's POV:
This room is sooooo.... I don't really know how I feel about it, but Lightbulb seemed pretty excited for it! I didn't know a hotel room could have so much color! As we walked inside the room, my eyes probably could've exploded at the amount of color in this room. As I looked around it, there was a sign hanging on the other side of the door that read, 'Welcome to the Neon Room!'. The neon room? That makes sense, I guess. The walls were a bright yellow with random splashes of color shaped sorta like the Nickelodeon splats on the old logo. There were neon blues, pinks, greens, and oranges all over the walls. Quite an...interesting design choice. The bed was a king size with bright purple covers on it. The bathroom walls were painted different pinks and the sinks and showers and all the other stuff were white and looked like a pretty normal normal bath room. This was like I just walked into a Splatoon war.
"This...is.... SO COOL!!!! COLORS EVERYWHERE!" Lightbulb exclaimed. She started fangirling over it, while I kinda just looked around some more. There were 2 TVs in there, one in the bedroom, and another across from the snow white couch. "This place is so.... I actually don't even know how to put it." Lightbulb stopped bouncing up and down and looked at me. "Do you not like it or something, Painty?" I shook my head.
"What am I thinking this place is SO COOL!" Lightbulb raised her hand to high five me. "That's the spirit! Let's jump on the bed!" I ran over to the bed with Lightbulb and started bouncing on the bed and me and Lightbulb were the happiest we'd been in a while. No more abuse. No more alcohol. A friend living under the same roof as you. We were elated.
As we continued to jump on the bed, we heard a knock on the door. We got off and stopped laughing. We opened it and there was a man standing there. "Excuse me, but the noise from your room is getting kind of distracting. I'm sorry, I'm staying next door, and I'm trying to practice for an important meeting I lead at work later tomorrow." I assuringly answered, "Of course, sir. We're sorry. We'll be a bit quieter."
The man thanked us, closed our door, and left. "Heh, whoops. Let's just watch some TV." Lightbulb quietly said. I nodded my head in agreement and we laid on top of the bed. She grabbed the remote and asked, "So, what do you wanna watch?" I shrugged. "I don't know. I don't watch TV too often. You choose!" She clicked on the guide and started to look through the channels. On one she saw that a marathon of that show she mentioned earlier, Steven Universe, was on.
"Oh my gosh, you HAVE to watch this show! It's so extra ultra amazing! Wanna watch?" I immediately said yes. It sounds like a pretty awesome show from what she explained to me before we started to turn it on. "So, Steven being born is technically the reason Rose is dead? Interesting!" I exclaimed. That's the one thing that I still didn't understand. We started the first episode on the marathon, and my mind was blown by how good it was. "So how was THAT, Painty? Did you love it or did you love it?" I started clapping as I responded, "I absolutely LOVED it!"
We continued to watch for at least 5 hours. "Oh god, this is so amazing! I can't believe that Garnet is actually a fusion! I didn't see that coming at all! Wait, what time is it?" Lightbulb leaned over and checked the alarm clock on the nightstand. "7:30. Did you wanna head down to the hotels restaurant? I've heard from the people in the lobby that it's a seafood restaurant!" Lightbulb ecstatically fangirled. Man she's hyper today!
"Sounds good to me. Let's go!" We jumped off the bed, and I got on a pair of plain black flip flops, and waited for Lightbulb. She got on her yellow and white stripped slides and yelled, "Snow Crab here I come! Wait that's probably expensive... Eh, we'll see!" She hurried over to the door and it swung open when she pulled it. It nearly smacked me in the face it was so fast! I ran out behind her, closing the door behind me, and we ran back down to the elevator. I pressed the down arrow and we waited for it to slide open.
After a while it did, and once again, no one was in there. I clicked the L with a star next to it and it started to move. "Hey, Painty, what are we even gonna do after these next two weeks of staying here? Find another hotel or something?" I sighed and put my hand to my forehead. "I'm not too sure about that, Lightbulb." She frowned, then turned it right back around. "Hey, we can worry about the future later. Let's enjoy now while it lasts!"
The door opened back up into the lobby, and we scanned around the restaurant. We finally found it behind the front desk, and we walked towards the guy in front of the computer which I'm guessing is used for seating. "Alright, you two will sit over at that mini booth in the corner of the room. Got it?" He sounded like he really hated his job. The tone of his voice sounded annoyed. "Yes sir!" Lightbulb responded.
We found the booth, and a waiter immediately came up to us. "What would you two like to drink?" Lightbulb started. "I'll have a Mountain Dew." She jotted it down in her notebook, and looked at me. "Water, please." She nodded, jotted that down as well, and walked away. We looked through the menu and decided to share a basket of shrimp. "I can't believe that they don't have Snow Crabs here!" Lightbulb pouted.
I was about to say something, when a man came up onto a stage in the front of the room. "Hello, everyone! How are y'all doing tonight?" Everyone started cheering and clapping, like he was famous or something. Even Lightbulb was cheering and wooing. "Who is that?" I asked her. She her hands over her mouth. "You seriously don't know?" I shook my head. "That's THE Hairspray! He's this really famous tv show host, more specifically, the host of 'So You Think You Have Talent?'!How do you not know him?!?"
That explains why I don't know him. Like I mentioned earlier, I don't watch much TV. "I don't watch much TV, like I said." The man continued to talk after the noise died down. "Now, I'm going to pick someone from the audience at random, and they're going to perform some karaoke for me! If I like their voice, I shall pay for their entire stay at this hotel! If I LOVE their voice, then I'm going to let that person bring a friend with them and fly over to California for a chance to be on, the next season of, 'So You Think You Have Talent?'! I'm going to pick a random person now, so be ready!"
He started to walk off stage, and I knew this was her chance! If he chose her, then she could actually be on TV! That's insane! He started to go to the middle of the room, when he darted his eyes towards us. "Painty, wouldn't it be INSANE if he chose-" "YOU!" Everyone started to stare at us, and we realized he made his choice. "M-Me?" Lightbulb stuttered, as he walked towards her.
(A/N: Oh would you look at that, a cliffhanger. 😅 Sorry about that. Please, like usual, comment below what you thought, and rate!)
