(WARNING: This chapter is pretty depressing. If you don't like that kind of stuff, you should leave. I seriously make this stuff way to depressing.)

Paintbrush's POV:
I didn't have the heart to tell her. I just didn't. She's already been through enough. I decided to just blind her from the reality of what was happening and whispered, "Hey, Lightbulb, what about we just head home?" Lightbulb tilted her head. "Why? I wanna learn more. I feel bad for these poor people's families! I'm gonna try and look over to where they're trying to take them out of the car." She started to walk over, when I grabbed her shoulder and worriedly shrieked, "I...I really don't think you should do that-" "Nonsense, Painty! I'm going, and your gonna like it."

She shook off my now weak hand, and walked up to the other side of the crowd. I just let her go. She'd have to find out eventually anyways. I walked over behind her, and she pushed through some people to see for herself. There they were. On the other side of the car, they were being taken out of the car. Their bodies burned, her mom's caramel hair now almost gone. Her dad and mom had both been declared dead just as Lightbulb had seen them. I couldn't bare to pick up anymore details of the accident.

I looked away, and there she was. Lightbulb, eyes watering and covering her mouth. She looked absolutely broken. She couldn't take her eyes away. She'd just seen the people she loved all her life, be declared dead. At only 14 years old. They had cuts and blood running all over them, and both had alcohol all over them. A bottle in each hand. She ran over to them, bursting in tears, repeating over and over again, "No. NO. THIS CANT BE HAPPENING. MOM, DAD. NONONONONO."

She bursted in tears and kept slamming the road with her fists. The paramedics dragged the stretcher away, and her as well, bringing her towards me. She ran out and started into the woods. I just stood there. Like an idiot, I stood there. Pupils tiny, looking at the cars again. Why did this day have so...awful? So flipping depressing? It's final. The world hates us. A lot. I looked back, and couldn't see Lightbulb anymore.

I pushed through everyone and started to yell, "LIGHTBULB! LIGHTBULB, IT'LL BE OK!" No it won't. It's like everything good that happens has to have something 500 times worse followed up to it. I looked around, and on the road, I saw the wet marks and ash from the rain and ashes that were on her sneakers. They followed to the right of the forest. I followed them about halfway around the dark, mysterious forest, when they suddenly stopped. I looked forward, and saw that there was a tall tree.

I figured she'd climbed it, so I tried to follow her. I've never climbed a tree before, so I had some difficulty on the first few branches, but I got the hang of it. I suddenly heard a mix of sobs and... I couldn't really make out the other noise. As I got closer, I made out the other noise. Singing. It was actually a really sweet sounding voice. I wasn't sure if it was Lightbulb or not. I had never heard the song before, so I didn't know.

I got closer, and saw Lightbulb. She sat on a branch, her face and clothes drenched with tears. Her eyes look bloodshot from crying so much, and she looked miserable. I realized, by the movement of her mouth, that it WAS her singing! I quietly climbed a bit higher to listen.

You win some
you lose some
it's just the way life works.
It throws you 'round
Like a softball
Till it hits you where it hurts.
And that's when you know
That it's done it's job

Like a sister who fights and fights
Like a Rottweiler who bites and bites
Then both make up
And both shape up
By making you smile
When times are tough
They make it all the while.

The days just seem so dark
And most of the time they are
But there's always
That person
That makes you better everyday
And mines
My new friend Painty
Who will make me happier either way.

Like a sister who fights and fights
Like a Rottweiler who bites and bites
Then both make up
And both shape up
By making you smile
When times are tough
They make it all the while.

But it all ends
when someone
Decides to leave my life
My parents, that's two
But it'll be alright.
My sister,
In jail,
It's better anyways.
My bestie
Sweet Painty
Can get me through the night

Like a sister who fights and fights
Like a Rottweiler who bites and bites
Then both make up
And both shape up
By making you smile
When times are tough
They make it all the while.

They make it all the while
They make it all
The while.

I started to climb up a bit more. It's a bit ironic that she said, 'Her best friend Painty' and talked about parents and a sister. Did she write that song HERSELF? It has a nice ring to it! Even though she cried a few times during the middles, it was still a super sweet song! And she was PHENOMENAL at singing! But back to more important business.

I got about two branches away from her, when I accidentally made a few noises on my way. She started to look around, sniffling in the process, then just went back to crying and humming. I got to her branch and sat next to her. She couldn't see me at first because she had her head turned to the tree while she was humming, then I accidentally bumped into her a bit, and she looked towards me.

She was blushing pretty hard, or maybe her face was so red from crying so hard. Her bloodshot eyes dared at me and I whispered while hugging her, "I'm so sorry...about..." She hugged me back, and cried a bit in my shoulders as she said, "I-I-I'm ok.... I-I j-just wished they w-would've paid more a-attention to me. Before they d-died and all. I-I've always looked u-up to t-them, but they always praised and w-worshiped SD without discovering her t-true colors *sniff*. I always knew that t-they were busy and all...at w-whatever they were doing, but...I just hoped. I loved them t-too much to see them go."

I started crying too, and she asked, "W-why are you c-crying?" "Well, it's just.. I-I know how you feel about seeing your parents go and all... j-just not in the same way...." We both sighed at the same time, and it was dead silent after. After about 10 minutes of silence, she asked, "Hey, did you hear me...do anything?" She frowned and I nodded. She buried her head and murmured, "Aw, no, oh no, oh no. Now you know how much I suck at singing, don't you?"

WHAT? Her voice sounded like 500 angels came and blessed her voice! "WHAT? YOU'RE PROBABLY THE BEST SINGER IVE EVER HEARD! You rock at it!" She blushed really hard and excited replied, "Heh, I'm sure I'm not THAT good." "I am SHOCKED! How in the name of the flipping world are you saying that your not THAT GOOD?! Also, did you write that song? Cause that sounds AWESOME!" She looked confused at me. "I made it up just a few minutes before you came up and heard me. It sounds like a 2 year old wrote it."

I backed my head away from her in disbelief. "It sounded actually really good! I could tell that the lyrics were yours by the content." Lightbulb nodded. "Ah. Thanks...but really... I suck like eggs." I started to shake her shoulders, "Have some self confidence, woman! You're good! Now deal with it!" She nodded, then looked down. She quickly looked up and exclaimed, "Well, to look on the bright side of things, I'll almost HAVE to go with you! Right?"

I grinned big and yelled, "NO DOUBT! Yay!" We both looked down, then I started to fall asleep slightly. I was SUPER tired, but I HAD to stay awake. I didn't want to go to sleep. "Painty, go ahead and sleep. I don't mind. Quit making yourself stay awake! I don't mind. I'm tired too." I laid down onto Lightbulb's lap.

Thank god it was a thick branched tree. About 2 feet wide, leg space. We scooted over to another part of the tree so we could have a bit more space for sleeping. She pulled the blanket out of her bag. "Good thing I have this very handy blanket!" She threw it on top of us and she cuddled with me on the branch. "Goodnight, Lightbulb." "Night, Painty. Lo-, I mean, don't let the bed bugs bite!" "Well, were kinda in a tree so..." "Just go with it, ehh?" We started laughing, and fell asleep under the thousands of shining stars that showered above us.

(A/N: I have the feeling another SU song should be here, but then I thought mmm, betta not. Please rate, and comment what you think! I probs say that too much 😆)
