Paintbrush's POV:
Here we are, the actually lobby of the building where they held auditions for So You Think You Have Talent. SO MANY celebrities have came in and out of these rooms, and now Lightbulb and I were actually standing there. There were at least 800 people just today, waiting for their turn to audition. The room was quite big, obviously. There were people there that looked as if yet couldn't care less that they were auditioning, as if they either didn't want to be there or knew that they'd make it. Those people I didn't particularly like, mostly because they were usually those vain, snooty people that thought they were the greatest thing to walk the planet. Then there were people who were excited to audition, jumping all over the place and practicing their audition song and such. I look to my right, and see that Lightbulb is just fangirling and looks about ready to explode of happiness.
She grabbed my shoulders and shrieked, "Can you BELIEVE we're here, Painty? This is AMAZING!" She started to pump her fists in the air, and I laughed. "This is SO cool! Like seriously, this is a once in a life time experience!" She quickly nodded. "It's like a DREAM! I didn't think I'd get on one of these shows! I'm so nervouscited!" Nervouscited? ...ohh okay, I get it. "I bet you are! By the way, I forgot to ask you this! What song are you auditioning with?"
She suddenly stopped, and gave a nervous smile. "S-Song?" I nodded, a bit confused. Did she forgot she had to pick a song? "Yeah, to audition with!" Her pupils shrank, and started to panic. "I TOTALLY forgot about that! Oh no! What am I gonna sing?!?" She tugged on her ponytail, and I tried to calm her down. "Hey hey, it'll be alright! Just choose a song! Your audition isn't for almost an hour! I'm sure that you'll be able to pick one by then!" I then held her hands. "..You'll be fine Lightbulb." She smiled, and looked calmed down.
I let go and found an empty brown couch up against a sapphire colored wall. I noticed that above it, there were pictures lined up, stating a name and a year. Then I noticed that above the pictures, it read 'Wall of Fame', and I then realized these were all the previous winners of the show. The years went from 1992 to 2014, and I recognized last years from a song I saw on the radio in my car. It had the name Razz on it, and 2014. Lightbulb sat me down and asked, "Hey, what song do YOU think I should pick? I can't think of anything." I shrugged. "Maybe more of an alto song, since your voice is pretty low. Then again, you can sing high notes too..."
She nodded. "Good note. How about... AHA! Toxic! You know, by Pointy Spears!" (A/N: 😂😂) Hey, a song I actually know. "Alrighty then! Let's hear it!" She shook her head no in response. "Huh? Why?" She nervously frowned. "There's other people in here. I don't want them to hear me!" Was she serious? "Nobody will be able to hear you, Lightbulb. With all the chitter chatter and singing, it will be too loud for them to hear you! Plus, you'll be performing in front of celebrities and on TV, so you're gonna have to get used to performing in front of others!" Lightbulb added, "If I make it. But you do have a point..."
I raised my eyebrows at her and frowned. "IF you make it? You totally will, Lightbulb! Now sing it for me!" She took a deep breath, and started to sing a part of it. It sounded amazing, as always. I could tell she was nervous by the shakiness in her voice. As she finished the chorus, I critiqued, "That was beautiful, as always! But, you sounded nervous to me. So I'm gonna try and calm you a bit." I sat closer to her, and started hug her from behind. She shakily asked, "Wh-what are you doing?" I explained, "I heard from the internet that hugging someone, especially by surprise, calms them down. So, as you can see, I'm lowering your nerves!"
She smiled as I started to hug her tighter. I really did enjoy it, I have to admit. We kinda just sat there a while, as she laid on my lap and let me hug her. She was smiling, and had closed her eyes. I then let go, and had her try and sing it again. She sang the same part she did last time, and she sounded as if she hadn't been nervous in the first place! "Thanks Painty, from the looks of it, I really needed that." I nodded. "No problem."
She continued to practice, and each time, it gave me butterflies listening to it. It was just so pretty, something I never expected from her. Then we heard the speaker that talked every few minutes say, "Contestant 13602, please come to the stage." She then squealed, "That's me! Let's go!" She grabbed my hand and we walked over as quickly as we could, (But couldn't run because of my crutches) and found our way to the door. She had her hand on the handle, and took a deep breath. "Wish me luck, Painty." "You won't need any." She giggled, and opened the door. I waited next to it, hoping for the best, and for her to rock that audition.
(A/N: SORRY IT'S SHORT! But hey, I got a chapter in here! Sorry it was sorta boring. For some reason, I wanna spend more time on the SD side of the story, but them again, the Lightbulb and Paintbrush is an interesting part... AGH! Well, after 3 weeks, here ya go!)
