After the banquet, I slept for around eleven hours, much to the disappointment of Ruby. My morning instantly brightened when Eden and Lady Noelle visited after I had dressed and had breakfast in my bedroom. Eden kept chatting about my travel to Belvior with her. She said that we would commence traveling tomorrow, I groaned inwardly at that, disappointed that I couldn't explore Korea more and talk to the generals about Father's plan.

It made me very nervous, as a Princess of Arundel, I have had experience with people, but the Koreans are different. I guess Father will talk with me when we meet in Belvoir, so I shouldn't worry too much.

My first day in Korea went surprisingly well. Noelle had suggested we take a stroll around the whole palace. I was awed by the Korean interior and architecture. It was very lavish and impressive. Though Arundel views Korea as a barbaric country, it seems that it is the other way around. 

"Look at your palace Sooji! Can you believe it's yours?" says Eden while admiring the elegant dome on the ceiling. True, I felt weird thinking this luxurious palace was mine now. 

We also went to the markets with a few guards, the markets were even more interesting than the palace. There was a range of items like hotteok and kimchi shops, gold and diamond shops, blacksmiths, shops with numerous velvets and silks, and many books. 

How was I supposed to betray this country?

Once Noelle and Eden had departed to their rooms. I was left alone in my chambers when Hyuntae turned up at my door,

"I hope you're not busy?" he asks me, his eyes twinkling and his face wearing 'that' grin. 

" Of course not," I smile awkwardly and usher him inside.

I just stare at him surprisedly as he gets down on one knee. Is this man proposing to me again?

" Princess Sooji of Arundel, and Queen Sooji of Korea, forgive me for not presenting to you a souvenir of our marital alliance, please allow me to give it to you now," he says, his husky voice filtering through my room. 

Is this guy joking or what?

I nod, not knowing what to say through my shock. He suddenly reaches his hand into his pocket and retrieves a small delicate ring box, opening to reveal the most beautiful diamond ring I've ever seen. And the best part? It was the exact shade of his eyes. He slips it on my finger as I feel my breath stop.

" T-t-thanks," I say, he grins at my confusion and kisses my hand before leaving my chambers, leaving me in utter shock at what just happened.

The traveling to Belvoir had started, and boy, was I tired. I was tossing and turning the whole night, thinking of my interaction with Hyuntae, hugging my pillow as though it would squeeze out the embarrassment I had. For a few minutes, I was just staring at my ring, admiring its undeniable beauty. 

Jumi had come to dress me again, claiming that Ruby was a lazy rat. Jumi was extra gentle and she did the same thing as on the ship the day before yesterday. The robes she chose were white silk, comfortable and loose fitting around my frame. It was a beautiful Korean creation, no doubt. She smiled at me from behind the mirror as I was admiring myself. " I think it's time to go, Madam," she says, and looping her arm through mine, she strolls downstairs happily, a skip in her step. I note her change in mood and make a mental note to ask her about it when we reach Belvoir.

I hurriedly finish my breakfast and enter a carriage with Eden and Noelle. We chatted for hours on end, and slept for a few hours, taking lunch and dinner in between. We reached Belvoir at around 3 AM. Eden, as the mistress of Belvoir castle, helps us reach our rooms and gets busy. When Ruby had finished dressing me (and herself at the same time) for the night. I sink into my bed and look out of the window, chuckling when I see a troubled Eden clinging to Riftan amidst the hustle of Koreans.

I wonder if Hyuntae will come anytime soon. And if Father has reached here.

My curiosity remains unfed because I sleep as soon as I close my eyes.

When I was dressing, I saw Isla standing at my door. I run over to her and hug her tightly.

" I had to come with Father," she says " I had to see you, Nieje and Annerose wanted to too,"

I hug her even tighter. I had missed her so much it was crazy.

" Father wants to see you though," 

I groan loudly, I knew this was coming, so I shouldn't be surprised. I was even surprised when Isla told me Father asked for Nieje and Annerose along with us both. As me and Isla walk to Father's lodging, we are joined by a tearful Nieje and Annerose, who hug me and refuse to let go. We reached Father's room and I opened the door gingerly.

" Well well, how's the plan going?" is the first words he says to me. I grit my teeth and say " I didn't start," much to the confusion of Isla, Nieje, and Annerose. Father narrows his eyes and ushers for Nieje and Annerose to come closer to him, " Come here Nieje and Annerose, I knew your fathers so well," 

They edge towards him, and suddenly he grabs them by the arms and I choke as I survey the scene in front of me.

He has a knife over their throat.

" FATHER! " screams Isla, skidding towards our friends, but she goes back a few steps when he brings the knife dangerously close to their necks. "Sooji, there's one thing you need to know, if you go back on this plan, or it fails....." he makes a slitting motion with his finger and points towards Nieje and Annerose, who had fainted.

My breathing becomes ragged and Isla bursts into tears. Begging me to explain what is happening. How has my man, my father, become so cruel? How, was he a villain all this time? 

A few seconds later, I drop to the ground. Letting blackness swallow me.
