Was Jasper here?

Joe made sure to Becky that he was not gonna walk around the corner to Anna's backyard. "There's something there, I'm serious. Let's just go home." Becky gave him an angry look. "Anna is missing, she's my bestfriend and you don't even care? Go, I'll go all alone then!" Backy said and started walking on the path to the backyard. She didn't look back, not before she heard Joe walking away.

Becky came around the corner to the left side of the house. This side had a small garden with all kinds of flowers. "What.." Becky kept repeating. All the flowers were.. Dead. It was all just colorless and dead. Becky noticed something though. There was one single flower in the garden. It was a dark red rose. Anna loved roses, especially dark red ones.

Becky kept walking. when she reached the cofner she suddenly stopped. "What if there is something.. or what if there is.. nothing." she thought in her head. Maybe Joe was right, maybe this was a bad idea. Becky was all alone, without any help. she took a few steps back, but then she heard a dog barking. "Jasper!" Becky shouted. She walked back to the corner. She heard the barking again. Her heart was pumping really fast. But when she did, there was absolutely nothing there. The backyard was completely empty. Not a chair, not a table. No toys. It was just a empty lawn. And no Jasper either.

Barking. I heard barking. It came from some meters away, but I heard some barking. Was Jasper here? I got suspended in my thoughts. I could feel that they were gonna do something. They tried to open up the box I sat in. I just sat there still, waiting and waiting.
