Anthony walked towards his mother "Anthony" Violet put her arm straight around his back "This is Lady Mary Sharma, and her two daughters. Miss Sharma and Miss Edwina Sharma"Anthony greeted the young ladies. Bowed at Agatha "Lady Danbury"
"It's a pleasure to see you, Lord Bridgerton, I hear Lady Whistledown is rather impressed with your swift rescue of Miss Featherington the other night"
"Well she has impeccable taste, Lady Danbury"
Lady Danbury hit her cane of the floor "Indeed she does. Making me even more intrigued by her identity. Any idea who our little gossip is?""I'm flattered you think I would speculate on such matters"
"Smart man"
Anthony nodded at Agatha.
He turned to Kate. Her dark pulled back in waves, Anthony's hand itched to undo her hair and let it flow over her. She would look exquisite with lose curls, tempting him.
"Please may I have your first dance Miss Sharma?"
Kate turned to him blankley "I am only here to support my sisters search for a suitor"
Lady Danbury shot her a look. Kate grimaced "Of course, My Lord"
Anthony had never met a woman who wanted to deny him a dance. It bothered him, to say the least. Edwina smiled as she watched her sister make her way to the dancefloor.
Colin reached for Pen's arm "Escort you to the dancefloor?
"Definitely" he smiled at her answer, he focused on her all the way to the dancefloor.
Ignoring the world around them. Like it was just them in the hall. As he held her, for a second he closed his eyes and breathed her in. Her scent sweet, he smiled at her warmth, she turned in front of him. His eyes remained fixated on her. Like he was trying to etch the delicate features of her face into his mind.
She remembered back to when he saved her from Cressida, she spilled a drink on Pen's dress. Colin informed her that he was to escort her to the dancefloor. She would never had told Colin, but that day she realised she did not deserve him. He was meant for someone else. While she was merely made for him. He laughed as they danced. She kept that moment in her heart and cherished it always. Colin was always handsome. When he was being her savour, she felt as though hercules himself was fighting Hades. Making her the damsel in distress. That was just the way he was, that was the way all the Bridgerton men are. They fought for what was right. Then she felt the tables had turned the other night when she saved his from Cressida's longing looks. Perhaps, he was the damsel in distress. She smiled.
"What?" Colins eyes had fluttered to her lips wondering if she had any secrets she felt she had to share.
"It's silly"
"Tell me anyway" he insisted.
"I was only remembering how you saved me when Cressida ruined my dress, then the other night I saved you. So I believe we are both, the damsel and the savour"
He looked like he had been cut down "I am not a damsel"
She snorted "You, literally said 'help' Colin"
He gushed "You, I suppose are correct"
Pen laughed "There is no 'suppose' about it"
Colin laughed with her. When he had stopped, he felt the air grow thin. Like he was having problems catching his breath. His gaze was back to her eyes, and his heart started to beat louder.
