"Dear Gentle Readers
The courtship between Mr Colin Bridgerton and Miss Penelope Featherington, was a welcome one indeed. The self proclaimed wallflower has made a true love match. A very rare gift indeed.
Mr Colin Bridgerton had been seen celebrating heavily with his eldest brothers last night, the merry trio were seen giggling excessively while Benedict Bridgerton was seen being pulled out of a hedge outside a bar owned by Mr Will Mondrich. Who was no doubt joining in with the festivities. It warms ones heart to see such devotion to family.
One would only hope other families would take note of such affection shown in public. This author hopes to see Mr Mondrichs bar flourish with the help of the Bridgerton men's influence.
Sadly one member on the ton will not be making an appearance. The new Lord Jack Featherington seems to have disappeared without a trace. This author has to question whether this has anything to do with the amount of funds that had recently been swindled from the gentlemen of the ton. Leaving the Featheringtons, once again, in dire straits.
One can only hope a new heir will appear to dig the Featheringtons out from ruin, once again.
With the big day upon us, this author has to wonder what else, this day will have in store when it comes to the Cowper's.
Cressida Cowper has secured an invite. After the gossip this young lady had spread across the ton. It makes this author wonder why the invite had indeed made its way to her at all, considering the extremely un ladylike behaviour toward Miss Penelope Featherington .
Is it merely an act of reconciliation or something else apart. Either way I'm sure her Majesty the Queen is as intrigued as I.
Your Truly
Lady Whistledown"
"Don't be nervous, Pen"
"I'm not nervous, I'm petrified. What if Colin changes his mind. What if I trip in front of the Queen. What if..."
Anthony shot in "You have to stop" he let out a small calming breath "Penelope, you look wonderful and Colin is so happy, don't fret sister. Your new life together will start momentarily, trust me."
Pen had a smile etched from ear to ear. Anthony looked at her confused, his eyebrow quirked "What is wrong with your face?" he jests
".. You called me sister."
They both smiled. A touching moment to be sure. He held back a joyous tear as he put his arm out ready to receive hers.
"As if four sisters wasn't enough" he jests.
The Church hall was full. In fact Pen had never remembered it looking so full. Perhaps it was the Queen, rubbing Pens achievements in Miss Cressida Cowpers face. That would be the kind of thing that would, indeed tickle her majesty.
All the guests didn't matter today though. All that mattered was the way Colin looked at her as she made those ever so important steps to the man she loved. To be Mrs Penelope Bridgerton, that had a nice ring to it.
There he was standing tall, his delicately stitched golden flowers on the waistcoat was a nod to Pen. Her cream silk dress clung to all the right places. Her curves, giving a beautiful hour glass shape. But as she was taking a small step at a time, she started to realise how warm the fabric was. She couldn't wait to get out of it.
Truth be told, her soon to be husband was possibly as eager as her. Colin didn't have his normal nervous hand twitch. possible more excited for the evening enjoyment for just the two of them. His smile was soft, his eyebrows raised a little in surprise of his 'to be' wife stepping towards him. She was so beautiful. He had to catch his breath. His heart was thumping so hard, not from nervousness, but complete shock that this goddess in front of him would be his wife. He was so happy he couldn't stop smiling.
