Reina walked closely behind Erin, nervous about what was to come. She had been waiting for this moment her whole life, but now what? What if... What if it didn't work out-
"Oof!" Reina yelped, having bumped into the eevee in front of her. She stumbled before being caught and steadied by Erin. He looked at her, a gaze of worry clouding over his face. He pressed his paw to hers briefly, as if to bring her back to Earth. Suddenly she felt more present.
"You good? You've been awfully..." he paused, pondering how to word his sentence, "Quiet. More so than earlier." He decided. He was still worried, now fully facing Reina. She wondered for a moment, trying to think of an answer. She didn't exactly feel fine, and she's been in her own head a lot.
"I guess I've just..." She stopped, drifting off. She sat in her head, thinking of what to say and how to describe it.
She was distracted by the building in front of them. It appeared to be a tent, held down by log stakes at each of its four corners. Red symbols adorned the fabric of the tent walls, followed by a pale pink display of a wigglytuff above. The wigglytuff welcomed those going in with its arms up, joyous. Below this Wigglytuff and in the center of the tent was an opening.
Reina snapped out of it, realizing she had spaced out analyzing the architecture of the Guild before her. She remembered the question asked of her, but before she could get her words out, she was interrupted.
"Excuse me, apprentices. You know, you're not the only Pokémon in the building..." A feminine voice said irritably. Reina looked up from her drowsy thoughts, stunned by the Pokémon in front of her.
Similar to both her and Erin, this Pokémon was an eevee. Her fur was silky and shiny, and it practically emanated sparkles. Her pelt, however, differed from the two standing in front of her. It was a stark silver color, glistening metallically in the light. However metallic it appeared, though, was softened by the cream-white color of her neck and tail fur. Reina was still struck by surprise, staring at the Glamorous Pokémon.
Erin seemed surprised as well, but not by the eevee's appearance, but rather by her words.
"I'm sorry we were in your way, but you could've been nicer about it. I think you freaked Reina out-" Erin started to explain, slight aggravation in his voice mirroring this eevees.
Reina was suddenly aware of her presence in this conversation. She felt awkward, having stared at this eevee for so long.
"I could honestly care less for how you were affected by me stating a fact. I'm sorry I freaked your little friend out, but I really have to go now, so-" The glamorous eevee stated, voice confident and stern. She only paused as interrupted by Erin.
"Well, I care how you affect her by stating your, fact, or whatever, because you're being a jerk about it, Haven." He said, attitude slipping into his words. He'd taken a step forward by now, in closer proximity to Haven. "Also, you're only a year older than us, so-" Erin was the one interrupted this time.
"Oh come on now, can we get this over with? I have more important tasks to attend to rather than playing with some," she paused, glancing at Erin and Reina, "Slightly younger than I am, yet severely less mature Pokémon-" Haven was interrupted once again.
"Why I oughta-" Erin yelled, quickly interrupted by another force.
Reina felt alone. She was watching these two fight and she felt helpless. How could she stop them? Would they start to actually fight, or would it remain a verbal attack? She was tired, and honestly ready to retire to her new den. Awakened from her thoughts, she gazed upwards.
"Hello, you must be Reina. Why don't you come with me? I'll take you to your room." The mystery Pokémon said. She was way too out of it to determine who was talking to her, but she felt a tail on her and decided she would do as it said and follow it. She felt protected.
-
Reina sat on her new bed, straw beneath her was pushed under her added weight. The walls around her were sturdy and closed off to make the room quite small, but cozy nonetheless.
"So, Reina, why don't I introduce myself." The Pokémon said, much more recognizable now that she was settled into her room, guided by this Pokémon.
She had a primarily pale yellow and partially light orange coat. Her eyes were a dark grey, and her fur appeared silky smooth. Her tail--well, tails, were long and toppled over each other, all 9 condensed into 1 lump behind her. She smiled kindly at Reina, understanding of her mood.
"I am Charm, co-leader of the Guild." She started off, surprising Reina. She was much more important than she realized! This was very embarrassing...
"No worries, however, you aren't in any trouble!" She said, noticing the look that appeared on Reina's face. Was she that readable?
"I'll just give you the rundown of what's going on out there," she motioned to the door with her paw, "Basically, I as well as my partner Pokémon, Violet, were previously a part of a team here at the guild. We took over after years of rigorous work and training, taking the positions of the old leader and assistant." She paused, looking out the window. Reina looked too, stunned by the beautiful view of the sea she didn't realize she had until now. Charm continues to speak.
"But aside from that history, welcome to the guild. You're now an official apprentice. I assume the eevee you came with is your friend, so maybe you'll think about starting a team with him. There are also other Pokémon here, however, if you see that that fits you better. You'll find many allies in your time spent here, even where you least think you'd find them." She said, firmly and sweetly. She gave Reina another smile, calmly gazing back to the door.
"I would stay longer, but I have duties to attend to, and I'm sure Violet could use some assistance out there." She said finally. She looked to her, grateful for the assistance and kind words. She thought for a second.
"Thank you..." Reina stated carefully, "For your help." She finished, truly thankful. She fidgeted with her paws on the bed, grabbing for the straw and gripping them with her claws.
"Of course. I have to leave now, but anything you need in the future I'll be glad to try and assist you with. Goodbye, for now." She said, before turning around and walking to open the door Noise creeps in from outside, presumably where the rest of the new recruits are. Charm gave Reina one quick last smile and quietly closed the door.
