Reina stopped fidgeting with her paws as she felt her body still in shock. What?
"We're... roommates?" Reina repeated, almost as if she didn't believe it. She knew, however, that this wasn't a dream. By now, Haven was sitting comfortably on her bed, yawning as if she didn't have a care in the world.
"I said what I said," Haven explained dryly. She sounded slightly annoyed at Reina's confusion, but Haven ignored it as she rested her head on her paws.
"Reina, I have to go..." Erin said regretfully. He looked into her eyes with sympathy for her current situation, before pressing his paw to hers. "I'll see you tomorrow though, okay? We can talk then." He decides, smiling at her reassuringly. Reina lets out a sigh.
"Mhm..." She replies quietly. Erin removes his paw before turning around and walking to the door. As the door creaks open, he looks back and gives Reina one last smile before disappearing behind the clicking of a lock.
Reina sits in her bed awkwardly, unsure of what to do. Her paws are on top of each other, the top of the two pressing hard on the other to apply pressure. The feeling brought her comfort.
She looked over to Haven discretely, trying not to grab her attention in the process. She failed at this, however, as Haven quickly took notice.
"Watcha starin' for, eevee?" She asked playfully, but her tail thumped against the ground back and forth, giving her an agitated appearance. Reina didn't doubt that she was.
"I um... I was just..." Reina spoke as she stared back dumbly, unsure of what to say. She shook her head, deciding to give in to her real feelings.
"You got in a fight with my... friend, earlier, which had to be broken up by another Pokémon." She paused, now looking away and out the window, "And you're also my roommate." She finishes, looking back to Haven as her tail swayed aggressively. Haven smiles, for whatever reason which Reina couldn't decipher.
"That's just how it goes, Reina." Haven said, placing an odd emphasis on her name, "Y'know, my roommate from last year got kicked out." She explained, her smile turning into what Reina perceived as devious.
"What?" Reina asked nervously, in dire need of further context. Her tail stopped moving, instead choosing to hide behind her body nervously.
"Oh, never mind that." Haven said in a nonchalant tone, pupils swerving back to face Reina, "It's just something that happens when... Pokémon get in my way." She said, yawing briefly after speaking. Reina felt a shiver travel down her spine. This was her roommate?
"I-" She tried to speak but was swiftly interrupted.
"I do wish we could speak more, but I'm very tired and could use some rest. Tomorrow instead, perhaps?" Haven said quickly in a curious voice. Her body language, however, betrayed no sign of waiting for a response as she curled into a ball in her bed, no longer facing her roommate.
Reina just gaped, shocked at the way this Pokémon behaved. Shocked at how she just threatened Reina the day that they met.
Reina decided that it wasn't worth stressing over her cruel roommate and that getting her sleep was more important. She curled into a ball, facing opposite Haven in a petty retaliation against her behavior. Soon enough, she was already struggling to keep her eyes open.
How would she interact with her roommate from now on, knowing what she knew? And with the constant state of being around her, how would she survive living in the guild? Soon enough, Reina was too tired to think. Her breathing steadied into a calm rhythm, and she drifted off into a deep sleep.

Hey! Sorry that this chapter is so short!!! I found that where the scene ended was a nice transition to the next episode. Anyway, here's my in-book announcement that I'll be switching my upload schedule to a chapter every Monday. I didn't want to change my upload schedule, but with school, I find that I'm so busy I don't have the motivation to write so much at the end of the day.
Anyway! I hope you enjoyed the chapter even if it was very short. Thank you for reading as always, and be sure to leave a like if you enjoyed it and comment on what you hope to see! The story is still in the making, so I could totally change some stuff... :3
