CHAPTER IV
————————————————————
SUNDAY
————————————————————

SUGURU AND I ARRIVED AT WHAT SEEMED TO BE A TOP-NOTCH BREAKFAST RESTAURANT, and once again, I feared for the mental stability of my wallet even though I made enough to support this lifestyle.

We both walked in and spotted Gojo sitting at a table, twirling his glass with a pout.
He still wore his sunglasses, he even wore them last night at the bar.

We walked over to him and he seemed happy to see us, getting up and shaking Suguru's hand and gently hugging me.

I put my coat behind my chair all three of us sat together around the table, keeping light chatter over how we were.
I kept glancing over at Gojo, trying to get a better look at what he was wearing.

Similar to what he wore yesterday, but today the colours were changed.
His shirt was a light blue, tucked into black pants with a simple belt.
He and Suguru wore similar clothes today, and luckily I got the idea of what to wear since I dressed in a similar fashion.

"How was your morning, L/n?" he asked me and I chuckled, replying that it wasn't too extravagant since I woke up with only enough time to get ready.

Suguru got a phone call and excused himself from the table, leaving both Gojo and me confused. However, it wasn't hard to have a conversation with him.

"So...L/n, are you and Suguru dating?" he asked me and looked shocked, feeling embarrassed by this question.

"No, we only work together. That's why we're close." I laughed it off, and he seemed pleased with the answer.

"I only thought because of your close friendship and that nickname he has for you." Gojo chuckled and I smiled at him, thinking back to how I got that nickname.

"Once when he was having a smoke in the street, I was looking at myself in the reflection of the glass windows of our work building, and I called myself gorgeous because I managed to look presentable that day...and he began teasing me, it never left sadly." I shook my head.

"It's a cute nickname, I would embrace it." he smiled at me, and Suguru returned to the table in a bad mood.

"I'm really sorry, Satoru, I would have loved to join but my stupid fucking manager needs me at work on my day off." Suguru grabbed his coat from the chair and waited for a response from Gojo.

"That's not good...luckily your manager will be gone by the end of the week, we can have breakfast another time." Gojo laughed and Suguru followed it up with a chuckle.

"Thank god that guy will be gone, anyways, Y/n, I'll see you at work." he waved me off and ran out the door before I could say anything.

"That- that was my ride home." I groaned as I watched Suguru climb into his car and drive off through the window.

"Don't worry about it, L/n, I'll take you back home." Gojo smiled and held my hand over the table as a reassuring gesture.

"What are you getting for breakfast?" I asked him while looking at the menu, and everything seemed appetising.

"I think I'll go for something sweet, that's what I like spending my money on." he laughed at himself, eyeing out the pastries that were displayed at the front.

"Something sweet? I didn't expect that." I was a bit shocked and he chuckled at my reaction.

"Well, what are you getting then? It's on me." he smiled and I thanked him for his generosity. Now my wallet doesn't have to worry about the price.

"I don't know...some of the things on this menu are catching my eye, I'll just order then the waiter comes." I smiled at him, feeling a bit nervous on the inside.

"So...do you have a wife, Gojo?" I asked him out of impulse, not thinking about my words beforehand.

"No...I don't have a girlfriend currently in the first place. It's definitely something I want though, since I am quite lonely by myself." he said, and I felt this sense of relatability with him, which caught my attention.

"I also get quite lonely by myself, I just can never find the time outside of work to actually date. It's something I talk about to Suguru a lot." I spoke naturally, not even taking a moment to consider what I was saying.

"Suguru has told me that you struggle to be by yourself and that you have aspirations of quitting your job and finding something better to do." he sounded genuinely interested.

"Well...not finding something better to do. But yeah? I need my job to support myself, but I also want to be able to do things I actually love...pursuing hobbies and interests, spending time with a partner, and I can't do any of that with my job." I rambled on.

"So you just want to live a little?" Gojo gave me the words I had been trying to find for years, and now that he had finally given them to me, I came to a revelation.

"Yes! I want to live, not exist." I got excited and he smiled happily over my reaction.

"Maybe once I have control over your company, I can try to make life a bit easier for you...more off days, less work, higher pay?" Gojo described my dream working situation, but it still was the job I was doing at the end of the day.

"Why do this all? I'm just a complaining employee." I laughed and he disagreed with me.

"You're a person too, you deserve to have a life. And I'm willing to do all of that for you and Suguru." he smiled at me and I felt the inside of my body heat up.

"I'm so happy you understand...I've been trying to find a person who understands how I feel, Suguru doesn't really understand, since he's really grateful for his job. It's not like I'm not, I have specific needs." I closed my eyes with a sigh.

"I'll make these changes for you and Suguru, but I want to see you living, not existing as you've said. For example, we should all go out more often, I say this because you two are enjoyable people."

"I'm willing to do that, I think you're a great person to be around too. If I had the opportunity, I would want to spend every day hanging out with you-" I let my words get ahead of me without thinking and I began internally freaking out over just embarrassing myself.

Gojo laughed at my words, but not in a harsh way, which was reassuring.
"I agree with you, L/n." he smiled and took my hand, holding it gently.

He took his glasses off and all of a sudden I could feel my face heat up, my mouth hung open over the sight of his eyes.

They were gorgeous, they looked like they held every single colour the ocean could show.

"I COULD GIVE YOU THE LIFE
YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED, Y/N."
