CHAPTER V

SUNDAY
————————————————————WE SPOKE ABOUT WORK STORIES WHILE WE ATE, and now it had come time to leave.
I stood from my chair and Gojo picked my coat up for me and held it up for me to slip into it.We both left the restaurant together and I began following him to his car, which was a blacked-out Mercedes.
I climbed into the passenger seat and looked at the interior of the car, Gojo laughed at me and began driving."I have to stop by my place because I got my kid some food too," he said casually and I looked at him in shock, not completely understanding what left his mouth.
"You have a kid?" I asked him calmly and he chuckled at my question.
"A son, he's fifteen. I call him my son because his mom and dad aren't around, long story," he explained and I nodded in approval.
I kept thinking of what his house could look like, and I felt myself getting excited at the thought.
Don't know why though. We arrived at a tall building and Gojo parked underground and took me to the ground floor of what looked like a very fancy reception.
We took the elevator and landed in his penthouse, once the doors opened I was shocked.
I couldn't believe the interior, it had floor-to-ceiling windows, and the whole floor had a crème colour palette.A tall boy with black spiky hair sauntered towards us, analysing me deeply.
Gojo laughed and introduced me to his son, Megumi.Gojo handed him a bag of food from the restaurant we ate at, and he happily took it and walked to the kitchen counter.
"So...who are you?" Megumi asked me while he ate his food, and Gojo was elsewhere.
I looked at him nervously and chuckled, thinking of a way to explain who I was."I'm Gojo's friend, I work in the company that he recently bought." I scratched my head nervously.
"Oh sick, then you know Suguru?" he continued and I nodded, explaining that he was who introduced me to Gojo.
"So, where do you go to school?" I asked him while he was chewing his food, so I waited for his answer patiently.
"Same school that Suguru and Satoru went to, it's some private religious high school up in the mountains." he shrugged and avoided eye contact with me while he ate.
Gojo came back and met us in the kitchen, and stood behind the counter; asking me if I wanted anything to drink.
"You don't mind staying here for a bit, don't you? I can take you back if you want," he asked me while he took off his sunglasses.
Even though I was in a trance due to his eyes, I still managed to respond adequately.
"It's alright, I don't need to be home. I'll be alone there anyways." I laughed and he followed it up with a chuckle.I went to the front door to hang my coat and take my shoes off seeing that I'll be staying here for now.
I walked back to the kitchen and found him looking at his phone, but once he saw me approaching he put it away.
I sat on a bar stool by the counter not too close to Megumi, keeping a friendly distance. The boy was eating while scrolling on his phone, so I wasn't too concerned about him since he didn't seem interested in our conversation.
"So...Y/n, what do you usually do in a week? For reference," he asked me, and I noticed him calling me by my first name, which made me smile.
"Well I work a nine to five, so I wake up alone and then go to work, then Suguru and I speak shit and take smoke breaks to avoid doing work because our manager is a dick, after that, I go home to an empty house, make something to eat and go to bed. However I have one day off, and I do nothing on that day." I said proudly, but realised how sad my life really was.
"And how long has your life been like this." he asked me, sounding almost concerned.
"I got the job when I was 25...and now I'm 28...a while." I laughed it off and Gojo had his eyebrows furrowed in concern.
"Jeez, that's rough." Megumi chimed in, not making eye contact with either of us and I let out a laugh.
He then got up from his stool, nodded and us and walked into what seemed to be his room. I looked at Satoru with a confused face.
"He's a teenager, not much else to it." he laughed."You've been living like this...for that long? No wonder you want to day drink and chain smoke cigarettes." he laughed but I knew it wasn't genuine, I think he was worried.
"You forgot ripping bongs until I green out and fucking die," I added, trying to lighten the mood.
"No wonder Suguru told you to might as well take Datura, I don't know how you could live like that." he scratched his head in confusion.
"It's alright, I'm kinda used to it. But now you understand why I complain about my life so much." I shook my head with a smile.
"I get it, Y/n...I'm so sorry you've had to live like that." he took my hand again and squeezed it.
"It's alright, Gojo-" he cut me off before I could continue.
"Call me Satoru, it sounds better." he smiled at me and I nodded, making a mental note that I would be calling him Satoru from now on.
"We should go out more often, with Suguru too. I think it would be good for you." he continued and I completely agreed with him.
"You're always welcome here too, I know I haven't known you for long but I truly feel bad for you." he smiled and I returned one.
"THANK YOU SATORU."
