CHAPTER XVI
————————————————————
WEDNESDAY
————————————————————

I SPENT HOURS IN FRONT OF THE COMPUTER, and within those hours Satoru would come and talk to me but would get bored after a bit.
He did a lot while I was busy working, and I was actually quite impressed at his capabilities.

I looked to the side of the computer and furrowed my eyebrows at the sight of him in a plank position.
"What are you...doing?" I chuckled and he broke the plank, falling to the ground with a sigh.
"I was trying to hold a plank until you noticed," he explained, wiping his forehead and checking his watch.

"How long were you in that position?" I asked him and he counted back using his fingers.
"Five minutes." he smiled and got up, coming behind the chair and looking at the four pages worth of words I had written.

"Impressive, you done yet?" he asked me while resting his head in the crook of my neck, making me laugh.
"Almost...just a bit more," I reassured him and kept typing, making him frown and walk away.

"So, we're going back to your place after this, get you dressed, then we go pick up Megumi. Afterwards, we drop him home and we go to the beach?" Satoru paced through the office while I watched him.

"Sounds good to me, basically done here." I finalised the document and sent it to Eric via Email.
Afterwards, I got up from my chair, stretching with a yawn.

Satoru came up to me and dragged me out of the office towards the kitchen, where he had cooked something for us to eat before we left.

"Househusband?" I raised my eyebrows while taking a forkful of food and tasting it.
"Working wife?" he sat down opposite me and chuckled.

"Thanks for cooking, I was starving." I smiled at him and continued eating.

• • •

Satoru drove me back to my apartment after eating, leaving my car at his place.
I let him through my front door and shut it behind me, and I quickly ran to my room to find something to wear.

"We have time, so like if you want to shower or do whatever, you can, I don't mind waiting." he sat down on my couch and pulled out his phone, immediately putting Ozark on.

"Well thanks, I'll be ready soon." I gave him a thumbs up and continued fixing myself up.

After showering I put on something more formal to wear, but not too formal.
I packed a side bag with extra clothes and a toiletry bag just in case I ended up staying over again.
Which I don't mind, but it's good to be safe.

I did my hair and fixed my appearance before leaving my room, showing what I looked like to Satoru.
He looked up from his phone and was pleasantly surprised, getting up from the couch and approaching me.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, his face merely inches away from me.
He had a grin plastered on, staring deep into my soul.

He felt my body with his hands, swaying me to the sound of the silence.
"You look great, Angel." he smiled and took another look at what I was wearing.

"Ready to go?" he asked and I nodded, following out of my apartment hand in hand.
I locked my door and we went down to his car, driving off to pick up Megumi.

"It's cloudy today, I thought it would be better weather." Satoru frowned, looking at the clouds that hung low within the buildings.

"The penthouse is going to look nice this late afternoon, we are going to be above the clouds." he sounded excited, and I looked out of the window to see what he meant.

"How far is Megumi's school from here?" I asked him and he pointed towards a mountain not too far away.

We drove for a little while longer and arrived at this temple-looking place.
Turns out that is the high school Megumi goes to.
And he met us at the gates and got in the backseat of the car, greeting each of us respectively.

"I cooked before I came here, I'm dropping you off at home and we'll be back in a bit," Satoru explained while he drove, and Megumi nodded in understanding.

"So...what did you do at school?" I asked him and he hesitated before answering.
"Normal school stuff...martial arts...maths...biology," he muttered and I furrowed my eyebrows at the first part.

"Go back, did you say martial arts?" I looked at both him and Satoru, and they both laughed.
"They teach martial arts there too, private school stuff." Satoru chuckled, leaving me more confused than before.

"I thought it was religious?" I looked at both of them for reassurance but neither were willing to give it.
"It is, that's why martial arts is part of it," Megumi explained, and it still didn't make sense to me.

Megumi was dropped off at the house and Satoru kept driving, now towards the beach.
I had my arm resting on top of the centre console, and I felt something creep up on my hand, which made me look at the man next to me.

He held my hand, intertwining our fingers as he drove.
Satoru turned to look at me, giving me a sweet smile and went back to keeping his eyes on the road.

"Not the most perfect beach day, but it would be nice to feel the water." he chuckled and I agreed with him, seeing that it was very cloudy.

I looked out of the window and smiled to myself, thinking about the pleasant situation I'd managed to put myself in.

I like Satoru, he caught my eye the moment he stepped into the office; and if I had the choice, I'd marry him if he asked me right now.

He's genuinely gorgeous, has an amazing personality and a caring demeanour, and is the dream man that any woman would wish for.

The fact that he was willing to give me the life I always wanted really secured his place in my heart, I see him in every aspect, but mostly romantic.

"We're here." the car came to a halt and he looked at me with an excited look on his face.

I LIKE HIM.
