CHAPTER XXIII
————————————————————
SATURDAY
————————————————————I WORKED FOR THE FEW HOURS OF THE MORNING THAT REMAINED, and since I had completed and handed in all necessary documents to Eric, I officially am not one of his employees anymore.
Satoru walked into his office and stood behind the chair I sat on in front of the computer.
"Are you done, Angel?" he leant his head down and planted a kiss on my forehead.
"I'm all yours now." I giggled while standing up from the chair and facing the man in front of me with a smile.
He held my waist gently and led me away from the desk and onto the carpeted floors.
Satoru sat down and pulled me down with him, making me hover above him.I held myself up with my arms while I straddled him and stared deeply into his eyes.
He pouted his lips and playfully looked away until I kissed him.
I lowered myself down to just lie on top of him, and the sound of him breathing and the feeling of his heart breathing was soothing.
We turned to the side and now both of us were lying on the carpet in each other's arms.
I stared at his face, admiring how perfect it truly was.I took his blue-ray glasses off to be able to see his eyes in all of their glory.
In them, it felt as if I could see the crashing waves of the beach where we shared our first kiss.Long white eyelashes, so beautiful that they look unreal to the naked eye.
"We're going out tonight." he smiled at me and brushed my hair aside.
"Just us?" I asked him and he shook his head at me.
"We're going out for drinks with Suguru." he sounded excited and I was keen on the idea.
"What about his girlfriend?" I enquired since I met her last night and they seemed pretty happy together, so I would assume she would join us tonight too.
"Still rocky between them, they're fighting every day now." he pulled me closer to him and my head was practically buried in his chest.
I thought of Suguru and felt unsure if I was a catalyst for his difficult relationship with his girlfriend. And for some reason, it plagued me with guilt.
"Do you think Suguru is the issue?" I spoke out of impulse, and seeing that Satoru knows his best friend better than I do, it seemed adequate.
"Not really...his girlfriend is a well-known pain in the ass. Suguru has always treated his girlfriends really well." Satoru looked deep in thought and I kissed his cheek to snap him out of it.
"Do you really think I'm the reason behind their fighting?" I felt uneasy, and I needed the reassurance otherwise it would probably eat at me for the rest of my life.
"Of course not, Angel. I was only kidding with you." he giggled and squeezed me tightly, which finally put me at ease.
"Okay...I feel better." I smiled at him and sat up next to him.
"I wonder how it's going to turn out at Nanami's wedding since Suguru's girlfriend is a bridesmaid. I think she might be the maid of honour actually." Satoru spoke causally of something I knew nothing about.
"Wait...Nanami is getting married soon? I thought he was only engaged." I was confused and Satoru was a bit shocked, and then proceeded to laugh at me.
"You get married after being engaged, you should know that. But shit, I forgot to tell you about that." he sat up next to me and I rolled his eyes at his engagement comment.
"Well, you can tell me now." I smiled at him and squeezed his hand out of excitement.
"Nanami is having his wedding in Malaysia next week." Satoru looked excited and I couldn't process what he had just said.
"Next week? How long are you gone for?" I frowned at the thought of him, Nanami and Suguru going away for an indefinite time, leaving me to work by myself.
"I think you mean how long WE are gone for." he had a wide smile on his face and I still couldn't process what he was saying.
"Take it back, what the fuck do you mean?" I laughed and he joined me.
"You, Megumi and I are going to Malaysia for Nanami's wedding next week," he spoke so casually that I couldn't even assume that he was joking anymore.
"You're fucking joking." my mouth was agape and he couldn't stop laughing at my reaction.
"Already paid for, Angel." he had this smirk on his face that I could only describe as cocky.
"But I wasn't invited." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and Satoru looked as if he remembered something important.
"You were invited, but I forgot to give you the invitation card." he stuck out his tongue and shrugged, simulating it was a silly mistake.
"We leave in a week and I don't have anything to wear!" I began stressing and Satoru kept laughing at me.
"That's the fun part, Angel! We're getting that sorted tomorrow." he stood up and brought me into the kitchen.
"Are you serious? Satoru thank you so much...I can pay you back." I truly felt grateful for his kind gesture.
"Not a fuck are you paying me back, this is just a little gift of mine." he dug through the pantry while I sat on the stool by the island.
"Isn't Megumi coming back now?" I asked him and he had a cheeky smile on his face as he brought out a dish of freshly cooked food from the oven.
"Is your dream to be a house husband or something?" I tapped my nails against the countertop.
"Something like that, we could be house husband and wife." he brought plates out from the cupboards.
"I can't be a housewife if I'm working, Satoru." I shook my head with a chuckle.
"There is no fucking way I would let you work again when we get married." he sounded adamant and it left me me shocked.
WHEN WE GET MARRIED?

I'm sorry for the late chapter!
Busy performing black magic on my new books :3Update: 26 August 2024
I realised I made a mistake with Nanami's wedding location and have changed it.
I said Indonesia initially but I have reverted it to the correct location, Malaysia.
