Chapter 10

Pichu and Oshawott were desperately trying to rival the power of the Giga Impact used by Electabuzz. The energy surging from the attacks colliding was immense; it felt like a large gust of wind was trying to push the three of them off balance, while Lexis and Lyra didn't seem fazed at all.

"That's more like it! C'mon, Electabuzz, show 'em what you got!" Lyra shouted.

It was then that the light from the Electabuzz attack began to shine even brighter, becoming more blinding than it already was. Kori shielded his eyes from the overpowering glow. When the light finally dissipated, Kori's vision became clear, and he noticed the Electabuzz on the ground next to Luxio, staggering to get up. Looking around the battlefield, Kori noticed Pawmi frantically running over to Pichu and Oshawott, who were lying on the ground. Oshawott slowly began standing up, causing Haru to sigh in relief; however, Pichu didn't get up.

"Pichu! Are you okay!?" Hiro called out but received no response.

"Pichu has fainted. It's now two versus two! Return Pichu to its Pokéball so it can be safe!" Lexis shouted across the battlefield.

"Shit," Hiro said, pulling out his Pokéball and pressing the button in the center. A blue light coming from the Pokéball encapsulated Pichu and retreated back into the ball.

Hiro had a distraught look on his face. He stared at the Pokéball intensely; thoughts of what he could have done differently to avoid this were flying through his head. It wasn't until Kori patted him on the shoulder that he snapped back to reality.

"It's okay, Hiro! Haru and I can still win, isn't that right, Haru?"

Haru nodded in agreement, while Kori gave a thumbs up.

Hiro gave a disheartened smile and nodded.

"Pawmi! Use Spark on Electabuzz while it's down!" Kori called out.

Pawmi encased its body in electricity and began charging toward the immobile Electabuzz.

"Alright, Luxio, it's time to protect Electabuzz! Use Spark as well on Pawmi!" Lexis shouted.

Luxio covered itself in electricity like Pawmi did and bolted in its direction. When the two collided, sparks of electricity flew in all directions, with neither giving in. Despite Pawmi small size compared to Luxio, it was able to contest its strength.

"Oshawott, use Aqua Jet on Luxio!" Haru cried out.

Oshawott surrounded its body in a torrent of water and began rushing toward Luxio, hitting it right in the side. Pawmi, free from its clash with Luxio, continued charging towards Electabuzz, hitting it in the stomach. Electabuzz recoiled in pain from the attack, getting knocked to the ground.

"Electabuzz! You should be able to move now! Use Quick Attack on Pawmi!" Lyra shouted.

"You're not getting the jump on me! Pawmi Mach Punch!"

Kori could barely keep up with both Electabuzz and Pawmi as they rushed at each other with incredible speed. They clashed across the battlefield, colliding with one another before quickly moving out of the way of the other's attack.

"I can't even see what they're doing anymore! It's too fast!" Kori yelled in frustration.

"I can't believe that lil' guy is keeping up with Electabuzz!" Lyra Laughed.

"It's about time I tag in again! Luxio, use Discharge!"

Luxio was beginning to charge its body with electricity, and in response, Electabuzz stopped its clash with Pawmi to run toward Luxio.
