Leo had finally caught up with the masked person he was chasing. They had run so far east that they had approached the edge of a sheer cliff that plunged into the ocean.
"You can stop trying to escape now; there is nowhere left to run unless you wanna jump off that cliff over there," Leo said, a bit out of breath.
The masked person turned around to face Leo; he had a more masculine build under the long, dark cloak but was much slimmer than the other.
In a distorted voice, the masked man said, "If you back away now, no blood will be shed."
"Tempting offer, but Ceres seemed keen on stopping you guys, and no offense, but I trust her more than you."
Leo looked around and realized the trees were too dense to allow him to use Tyrantrum in this coming battle. Its large body would have made it impossible to move here easily. Leo pulled out two pokéballs; the first unveiled his Charmeleon with its vermillion scales and bright red flame at the end of its tail burning intensely. The second Pokéball revealed Leo's final Pokémon, a Luxio. Similar to the one Lexis used in their gym battle with its scruffy black mane and piercing yellow eyes.
"It seems you leave me no choice but to neutralize you," the masked man said, pulling out a Pokéball.
He threw the ball, revealing an iron-clad humanoid Pokémon with a primarily red and black body. Its metallic forearms and hands were white, with a blade protruding from each arm. Atop its head, the Pokémon wore a red and black helmet with a golden axe-shaped blade.
"Bisharp, use Night Slash," the masked man commanded.
The blades on Bisharp's forearms became encased in dark energy, transforming into a sharp, elongated blade with a blade aura. Bisharp then charged towards Leo's Pokémon at an incredible speed.
"Luxio, hurry and use, Fire Fang!"
As Bisharp swung its blade, Luxio's fangs became encapsulated in flames. Luxio narrowly caught Bisharp's blade in its teeth, holding it in place.
"Charmeleon, use Flamethrower!"
While Bisharp was struggling to pry Luxio's jaws off its blade, Charmelon released a stream of fire from its mouth in their direction. Luxio let go of Bisharp at the last second, but it was too late for Bisharp to avoid being hit by the flames. The fire finally dissipated, revealing a severely injured Bisharp who was on its knees, trying to get up. Some of the trees and foliage were now charred black.
"Let's make a deal. We both know steel-types are weak to fire attacks, so why don't you just surrender so we can get this over with?" Leo asked confidently.
"Silence! Bisharp, use Iron Head!"
Bisharp quickly lunged towards Leo, preparing to ram its head into him.
"Luxio, use Spark!" Leo shouted.
Luxio surrounded its body in electricity and charged towards Bisharp until they both collided. Bisharp was about to overpower Luxio in the exchange until Leo issued another command.
"Charmeleon, use Ember!"
Charmeleon swung its tail in the direction of Bisharp, releasing a small ball of fire towards it. The Ember knocked the Bisharp off balance, allowing Luxio to overpower it, ramming the Bisharp into a tree.
"You must only have one Pokémon, huh? You're Bisharp is definitely stronger than Luxio or Charmeleon, but not when they're together. Not to mention you're at a serious type disadvantage here."
