The sky was completely dark when they got to Melody City. The stars had vanished from view in the city, leaving the sky to appear as a blank black sheet. In contrast, the city itself was teeming with lights and life. The buildings reached nearly to the sky, making the night more brilliant than any starry one. There were so many distinct types of people walking around the streets, each one appearing to be in their own world. The sound of cars, talking, and Pokémon occupied the entire city.

There were so many new experiences happening all at once; for Haru, it was much more than he had expected. Haru tried not to look at the other people strolling down the street, staying as close to Kori and Hiro as he could. It was so bright, despite being nighttime, that it was almost blinding him.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe we're already in Melody City! We'll meet Diana in person!" Kori cried out. Kori was turning in all directions, attempting to take in the entire city.

"Who is Diana?" Haru said, tugging on Kori's shirt to get his attention, but to no avail.

"Diana is the most famous pop singer in the region, along with being the Normal-type gym leader. Melody City is also the home of her gym, so she frequents here quite often when she isn't doing tours. There is a digital billboard with her on it right over there," Hiro said, pointing in the direction of a giant screen displayed on a building.

Haru turned to look and saw a picture of a young girl about their age on the billboard with milky skin and bright pink hair atop purple eyes winking at the camera. The girl had an oddly shaped mic on her ear, wore a hot pink varsity jacket with a blue shirt underneath, ripped white jeans, and held a pink-looking Pokéball with a heart.

"So that is Diana," Haru said, unable to look away from the massive screen. Something about her demanded attention and exuded confidence, just like Adhira, even though he had never seen Diana. Haru's attention soon snapped away when a person walking by bumped into him without even glancing in his direction. Haru scowled at the person and continued walking with Kori and Hiro. "Um... where are ...we walking to?" Haru asked Hiro.

"We are headed to the Pokémon Center," Hiro said, pulling out his Trainer ID. He pressed a few buttons, and suddenly, a map appeared on the screen. He pointed at a location on the map and continued, "In the northern part of the city, there is a Pokémon Center we can heal our Pokémon at and stay for as long as we need since we are trainers."

Haru nodded, looking at the map. He looked up at Kori, who was still gawking at everything he saw in the city.

So many different things are going on that I've never seen before. It's a lot. Kori seems to be having a good time , though, Haru thought.

They eventually made it to a giant white building that looked very modern. It had multiple floors going up, with large glass windows on every floor. It had a bright orange roof with a symbol in the middle that resembled a Pokéball. The three of them walked inside, noticing how large it indeed was. The lobby looked very modern and had a large lounge area for people to sit down comfortably. To the right was a sectioned-off part labeled "Healing," and to the left was another separated area called "Market." Hanging from the ceiling were multiple giant crystal chandeliers, giving off light to the entire Pokémon Center. There were numerous sets of elevators and winding staircases leading upward to higher floors. There were people everywhere, walking and chatting. Everyone here seemed like a trainer, with most people having their Pokémon out freely.

Hiro leads the way towards the "Healing" area, with the other two following behind. In this area, there were multiple stationed machines with six Pokéball-shaped holes. Looking around, Haru noticed further back there was a counter where several women who all seemed strangely identical to receptionist Joy stood behind. They all wore nurse outfits and chatted with other trainers in the room.
