After their gym battle with Diana, Kori, Hiro, and Haru returned to the Pokèmon Center's Healing area. They each placed their Pokèballs inside the machine and waited as their Pokèmon were getting healed from their previous battle.

"I can't believe how rude Diana was. So what if your mother is in town? That does not mean you get to act like that." Hiro complained.

"Hey Hiro, please don't say that," Kori chimed in.

"It's true, though!" Hiro argued.

"But we don't know her situation!" Kori countered. "You should know better than anyone about how bad some parents can be. Can't you sympathize with her?"

Hiro froze for a second.

"You're really going to bring that up? Are you going to take her side after she attacked our Pokèmon unprovoked?"

"I'm sorry. I just think we shouldn't talk badly about her. I'm upset our Pokèmon got hurt as well, but I'm sure she has her reasons for feeling this deeply about her mom."

The machine made a dinging sound, indicating it was now finished healing their Pokèmon. Hiro quickly grabbed his Pokèball and began walking towards the Market area of the Pokèmon Center without looking back at Kori and Haru.

"Haru, do you think what I said was wrong?" Kori asked with a sad expression on his face.

Haru looked down at him, unsure of how to respond.

"I'm sorry... I don't know enough about the situation. Hiro is really upset with Diana's actions... and it seems after Seraphina mentioned it was because of her mother that he got even more upset."

"Yeah, Hiro's parents weren't the greatest, which is why my mom took him in."

Kori and Haru grabbed their Pokèballs and caught up to Hiro, who had just entered the Market area. They walked past the cashiers, who were in front of the store. They looked strangely identical to receptionist Joy at the Trainer Plaza and the nurses they saw in the Healing area. Haru stared at them for a second in confusion but continued walking further into the store. Further inside, there were ginormous aisles labeled with all sorts of different supplies and equipment trainers might need.

"Hiro, what're we getting from in here?" Kori asked

Hiro pulled out his trainer ID and began swiping on it.

"Well, I figured we should get more supplies stored within the packing cubes. Since we have a late start on the gym challenge, we shouldn't stay in Melody City for too long once we get the supplies we need."

"Oh yeah, I forgot we are kind of behind."

"Yeah, it's already September 28th, and we have until the end of May before the season ends, which means..." Hiro paused, thinking in his head. "We have about 246 days to get the remaining badges."

"That doesn't sound too bad."

"Well, we were lucky Melody City was so close to Cedar Hill Town. It only took a couple of days on foot. Unfortunately, everything else is much farther away." Hiro stated.

Kori sighed, pulling out his trainer ID, and noticed there was a lot more money in his account than before.

"Holy crap, Hiro! Haru! Look at this!" Kori shouted

Both Hiro and Haru leaned in to look at Kori's screen, noticing the large sum of money.

"Damn! Five hundred thousand Pokedollars!? Where did that come from?"

Haru and Hiro pulled out their trainer IDs and noticed they had the same amount.

"Is this because we beat Diana?" Haru asked.
