Sakshi walked into the building, her heart thumping loudly against her chest as she entered the elevator and pressed the button for third floor.

She knocked at the cabin door and walked in when she heard a small come in.

Bela looked up and gave her a small, reassuring smile. Her condition was not lost to her. She had had a small chat with her over the call and asked her to come over when she sounded hesitant in talking about the matter over the call.

Bela- "Kya baat hai Sakshi? Why do you look so tensed?"

Sakshi ran a hand over her face and sighed.

Sakshi- "How's Meher in the sessions?"

Bela- "She's opening up. Though gradually, but she is."

Sakshi- "What do you think?"

Bela- "She will heal. Trust me. And jab aisi family ho, toh process aur easy ho jata hai. She will be fine."

Sakshi- "Tumne usse uss incident ke baare me baat ki?"

Bela shook her head- "I want her to take the first step. It would be easier that way. For now, I am content with her just talking her heart out with me."

Sakshi nodded. She definitely won't interfere with her methods. All she wanted was her child to heal. She'll learn to be patient.

Sakshi- "You are a psychologist. Logo ka demeanour, behaviour...you know how to read all that. So..do you think she is still hiding a few details?"

Bela confused- "I am sorry but I don't get you. Tumhe Aisa kyun lagta hai ki she is hiding something. I don't think woh pni family se kuch bhi chupayegi."

Sakshi sighed. There was no point in delaying the inevitable.

Sakshi- "Do you think she has been.. sexually assaulted." Her heart missed a beat as she anticipated the response.

Bela was shocked for a while. This question was not new for her by any means. In her career, she had seen a number of such cases but somehow it always managed to unnerve her.

Bela- "Might be. Dekho Sakshi...there is trauma. Uski baaton se, uske reactions se, uske thinking method se yeh toh clear hai ki her past is traumatic, however the extent of trauma is not something that can be so easily figured out.

For example, abhi abhi uski life me bohot changes aaye hai. There are chances that in the beginning of this arrangement, her past and her Insecurities would have taken a toll on her solely because she felt unsettled and somewhere scared in the new surroundings. However, when everything settled down for her, those insecurities would have taken a backseat. Phir bas kuch aise incidents hi honge, jinki wajah se woh thoughts aur insecurities dobara se resurface kare. Inn sessions ka objective is to eradicate that trauma and insecurity from the roots. And we are working on that.

But if what you are saying is true then I am afraid this is a case of trauma denial."

Sakshi- "Trauma denial?"

Bela nodded- "Human mind is much more creative and adaptive than we think. Kai baar jab koi traumatizing experience itna bada hota hai ki our mind can't register it, then our mind simply denies it. Ek time ke liye yeh efficiently hi sakta hai but if our mind keeps blocking those images and memories for a prolonged time, then it could even prove fatal."

Sakshi- "Toh iska matlab hai ki agar Aisa kuch hua hai toh, Meher ko yaad hi nahi hai?"

Bela- "That's one way of saying it. But uske subconscious mind me woh saare incidents play ho rahe hai. It's just that ki woh kisi ek incident ko zyada weightage de rahi hai. I think, in her case woh Sia ke saath Jo hua, uss particular memory ko apni baaki saari memories ko cloud karne de rahi hai."
