Meher was laughing uncontrollably as Aru narrated the challenge incident to her. Both Rishi and Vansh were giving her an unamused look. Meher looked at their faces and laughed yet again. Both the brothers got irritated and got up to leave.
Meher,in between giggles- "Aree nahi jao! I am not laughing,ok?"
She put on a serious face but had another fit of giggles as the silly challenge replayed in her mind. Rishi had enough! He whacked her! Hard!
Vansh- "Good Bhaiyu! Do aur lagao!"
Mehu rubbed the sting on her head- "Oww Bhaiyu! Not fair. Challenge haaro aap aur maar mujhe rahe ho?"
Rishi-"Itna kya has Rahi hai? Koi bohot funny baat hai yeh?"
Mehu- "Funny toh hai na,Bhaiyu? I mean aapko sahi me laga ki aap mujhe ARU se zyada jaante ho? You are delusional!"
Though Mehu meant it as a joke yet Rishi and Vansh were hurt by her words. Arhaan who had been a silent spectator of the siblings drama, too noticed the hurt on their face. They quickly masked the hurt and looked away.
Sakshi called Meher in her room.
Meher yelled back- "Aayi bhabhi!" She looked at her brothers , "Baigan ka bharta!" She laughed and went away.
Arhaan looked at the brothers. He understood that the anger on their faces was not an outcome of irritation but rather it was pure jealousy. He decided to address the elephant in the room.
Aru- "Pata hai,Mai na Mehu ko tab se jaanta hu jab se woh sirf 2 days ki thi aur mai 2 years ka."
Both Rishi and Vansh looked at Arhaan. They had missed so much of her life.
Arhaan smiled sadly- "We both connected naturally. Not because hum same orphanage me pale badhe ya phir ek dusre ko bachpan se jaante hai but because we both had lost something common. A family. Hum dono ki hi khud ki family nahi thi."
The sadness in Aru's eyes tugged at Vansh's heartstrings. At that moment, he felt absolutely stupid over getting jealous by their bond. He put a reassuring hand on his hand.
Aru looked up- "Abhi hum dono ke paas humari family hai. And luckily, we are still in contact. This is like knowing each other since the time we had nothing to the time we have got everything we once desired. So of course humara bond special hai....but iska matlab yeh nahi ki yeh aap sabke uske saath Jo bond hai usse zyada superior hai!"
Rishi looked at the boy and smiled. For a moment, he had let his own insecurities over losing the major part of her childhood cloud his judgement. How could he forget that the little boy sitting in front of him was the same Aru who used to talk to him and only him endlessly whenever he visited them. At times, Rishi had acted as a mentor for him and today,he felt proud of him.
Aru- "You guys hold a very special place in her heart. Pata hai Vanu Bhai, lunch time me na she is all talks about you guys! Hum kabhi apne baare me baat karte ho nahi hai, humesha aap sab ke baare me hi baat karte hai.
Be it that watch you gifted he,Bhair or those interesting history lessons you gave her,Bhaiyu she has given me an in depth detail of everything! Trust me bohot pakaya hai usne mujhe!"
