Chapter 19: Klaus

Dylan walks down the stairs as she sees Andie and she smiles, "Hi, sweetheart. Ooh, coffee." Andie smiles handing Dylan her coffee. Dylan sips the black coffee with a content sigh. Dylan says, "Yum. Good morning." Dylan pecks Andie's lips as Andie smiles and says, "Mm, good morning." Stefan walks over and looks at Dylan and says, "Hey, where's Elena?" Dylan looks at Stefan and says, "I don't know, Stefan. She's your girlfriend. Mine's right here." Dylan grabs Andie by the waist as she brings her to her chest and dips down and kisses Andie. Andie smiles into the kiss as as she gasps when Dylan grabs her ass. Stefan walks away shaking his head as Andie pulls away saying, "I have to go to work." Dylan sighs and says, "Okay. Bye." Andie smiles and says, "Bye." Andie walks away. Dylan looks over at Stefan and watches him curiously as he heads down towards the cellar. Dylan follows after Stefan and the two of them find Elijah gone. Dylan says, "No, she didn't." Later, Dylan and Stefan are in the living room as Stefan calls Elena. Elena answers as Stefan says, "Where are you? You, okay?" Elena says, "Yes, I'm fine." Stefan says, "Where's Elijah?" Elena says, "He's right here." Stefan says, "Where? I'm on my way." Elena says, "No, Stefan, Elijah and I need some time alone." Stefan says, "Listen to me. He can't be trusted. He'll use you to get to Klaus." Elena says, "Elijah is a noble man, Stefan. He lives by a code of honor. I can trust him. He knows that I'd be incredibly stupid to betray him again. By removing the dagger, I have proven myself." Stefan says, "You can't do this alone." Elena says, "It's my decision, Stefan. Please respect it. And make sure Dylan doesn't do anything stupid. I'll be in touch." Elena hangs up as Dylan shakes her head as she says, "She's lost it." Stefan says, "If anyone can get him to help us kill Klaus, it's her." Dylan says, "Bonnie's the way to kill Klaus, Stefan. He thinks she's dead. We have a chance with her." Stefan says, "She'll kill herself in the process. Elena's looking for another way." Dylan rolls her eyes as she says, "Her way's going to get herself killed. So, we need to find her and stop her." Stefan says, "No, you need to back off." Dylan scoffs and says, "What?" Stefan says, "Look, I don't like this any more than you do. But, we need to trust her, we got to just let her do her thing." Dylan says, "Whatever." Stefan's phone rings and he answers it, "Hello?" Jenna says, "Hey, Stefan. It's Jenna." Stefan says, "Jenna, hey." Jenna says, "Where's Elena? And Jeremy? No one's answering their phones." Stefan says, "Uh, Elena's not here at the moment. Is, uh, is everything okay?" Jenna says, "She left me all these weird messages telling me to stay away from Ric. What's going on?" Stefan says, "It's really hard to explain over the phone, but, um... she was hoping that you could stay on campus for a little while longer." Jenna says, "Oh, that's kind hard to do from my kitchen." Stefan says, "Wait, you're home?" Jenna says, "Yeah. What's going on? Where's Elena? I'm supposed to meet Ric at the grill for lunch to talk." Stefan says, "Jenna, listen to me carefully. Whatever you do, do not meet Alaric at the grill. I'm going to come over right now and I'll explain everything." Stefan hangs up as he says, "Okay, I'm going to go handle this. Try not do anything stupid." Dylan smirks and says, "No promises." Stefan rolls his eyes and he walks away. Later, Dylan's going to Alaric's apartment with Andie. As they're walking up to the door, Andie says, "I really don't think that this is a good idea." Dylan says, "You're an investigative journalist. We're investigating." They hear music coming from inside the apartment. Andie knocks on the door as Andie says, "Alaric, are you home? It's Andie Starr, Jenna's friend." Dylan breaks the door knob as Andie pushes the door open. The two see Katherine. Dylan smirks and says, "Well, look who's not dead." Katherine says, "Unfortunately not." Andie walks into the apartment as she says, "Wow! You were right. She looks exactly like Elena." Dylan says, "Yep." As Dylan walks in, she can't as she sighs, "Great." Katherine says, "What are you doing here?" Andie says, "We are here to rescue you." Dylan looks at Andie and says, "No, sweetheart. We are here to see if she deserves to be rescued." Andie says, "Right." As Andie looks around the place, Dylan looks back at Katherine as she says, "I figured you still might be kicking. Alari-Klaus was blending way too easily. Figured he had probably had some coaching." Dylan holds up a small vile vervain as Katherine says, "Is that..." Dylan smirks and says, "Vervain, your salvation." Katherine says, "It's not going to undo anything." Dylan says, "There's always a loophole. Did he tell you to stay in this apartment until he said it was okay to leave?" As Katherine goes to say something, she can't as Dylan nods and says, "You can't say, did he tell you to do absolutely everything he says until the end of time?" Katherine says, "No." Dylan smirks and says, "There's your loophole. Drink this and prevent any further compulsion." As Katherine goes to grab it, she 's blocked by the force field and she says, "Give it to me." Dylan smirks and says, "I will. Just answer one question first. You double-crossed us with Isobel, why?" Katherine says, "I didn't think you could stand a chance against Klaus. I was looking out for myself." Dylan says, "And look where that got you. Here." Dylan tosses the vervain to Katherine as she says, "Be careful with that, if he finds out you have that you're never getting out of here." As Katherine drinks the vervain, she starts coughing. Dylan says, "You owe me. And I will collect." Dylan looks at Andie and says, "Come on." Andie walks up to Dylan and Andie closes the door as she says, "It was nice to meet you." Dylan grabs Andie's hand and the two leave. Later, Dylan walks into the boarding house and Dylan sees Elena leaving. Dylan says, "Where do you think you're going?" Elena says, "Back to Elijah." Dylan scoffs and says, "Are you serious?" Elena says, "Very." Dylan says, "Whatever. I don't care anymore." Dylan brushes past Elena as Elena sighs. Later, Dylan walks into the study to see Stefan, Elena, and Elijah. Dylan narrows her eyes at Elijah and says, "What the fuck is he doing here?" Elena says, "I brought him here. Elijah and I have renewed the terms of our deal." Dylan says, "Really?" Elijah says, "The two of you will come to no harm at my hands. I only ask for one thing in return." Dylan crosses her arms and says, "And what's that?" Elijah says, "An apology." Dylan chuckles and says, "Your joking." Stefan walks up as he says, "I'm sorry for the part that I played in your death. I was protecting Elena. I will always... protect Elena." Elijah says, "I understand." Everyone looks over at Dylan. Elena says, "Sacrifice is going to happen, Dylan. Bonnie will be able to kill Klaus without hurting herself and Elijah knows how to save my life. I told you I'd find another way. And I did." Dylan looks at Elijah and says, "Is that true?" Elijah says, "It is." Dylan looks at Elena and says, "And you're trusting him?" Elena says, "I am." Dylan says, "Then you can all go to hell." Dylan turns and walks out of the study not trusting Elijah's intentions.
