After pulling on my pajamas, I knew that sleep would be impossible right now. My wolf wouldn't let me sleep without him. Sighing, I headed down stairs to walk around. My first move was to go to my favorite room with the piano but as I grew closer, I could hear someone playing it. My interest peaked and I snuck to the door but before I was even in the right hallway, I knew who it was. I could smell him and feel him, it was Darrow. But I couldn't stop myself from finding the door and listening. I knew he knew I was there but he didn't stop playing and I was grateful.
Sitting down. I pulled my knees to my chest and let his song and scent sooth me. Before too long, I was asleep.

When I woke up, I was back in my bed and felt more rested than I had in a while, but it still wasn't enough. For a second I wondered who had brought me back up to bed but when I turned and pressed my head to the pillow beside me, I didn't have to guess. Darrow's scent was strong, he had to have just left.
Anger surged through me. Not bothering to get dressed, I sprinted down stairs in search of him. He was headed to the dinning room but before he could get there, I grabbed his arm and smashed him into the wall.
"Did you stay in my room last night?"
He smirked, "You didn't want me to leave."
"I was asleep!"
"You weren't complaining. You seemed to really enjoy tangling yourself up against me."
I hissed, "You have no right!"
"Yes I do. You're mine."
Rolling my eyes, I shook my head, "No I'm not! You lost that right!"
He growled as I stomped into the dining room and zeroed in on Cris. He was laughing about something with Beth. When I moved beside him, he laughed and nudged me playfully.
"Ready for that rain check?"
"Let's do this! I need the distraction."
Cris smiled, "Alright but you've been warned."
Josiah laughed and showed off his scar, "And so have you."
Scooping up his hand, I pulled him to the large room that was set up for training. A few of the others followed us, even some of the Alphas came to watch. When I spotted Darrow, anger flared up inside me and my mind constructed an evil plan. It wasn't like me to be vengeful but I want a reaction from him, something to prove he had some sort of heart in him. That he cared about me.
Cris took off his shirt and stretched out on the matts, "Ready for this little girl?"
Shaking my head, I pulled off my socks before looking back at Darrow who had moved closer to us. His whole body was rigid and slightly shaking with a clenched jaw. Glaring at him, I pulled off my sweatshirt, leaving me in my tiny spandex and sports bra. The bra covered my Luna mark, otherwise I would have never taken the sweatshirt off.
Cris looked at me in surprise, I had never been one to wear so little while training. It was very out of character but I didn't care. If Darrow was going to roll around with naked girls, I didn't see why he couldn't get a good look at what he would forever be missing out on.
My body was tan and strong. My abbs were easily seen without much flexing, my rear was bubbly and round, my arms and back were perfectly toned, and my boobs popped out of my too small sports bra. I smirked at myself, This would teach him a lesson.
A deep growl erupted through Darrow and his shaking turned into a blur. Everyone watched as I ignored his anger. They all looked quite amused, apart from Maya - she just looked beyond pissed. Cris shook his head at me, knowing exactly what I was doing. Winking at me, he decided to play along.
"Playing dirty I see." He smirked at me as Darrow was bursting at the seems, "It's not normally like you Josie."
"I thought I'd switch it up." I moved closer to him as my smile brightened with power.
Cris shook his head as he ran his fingers over the skin on my shoulder with his thumb, "It will be a shame to scar such beautiful skin."
Feeling a little more confident, I ran my fingers down Cris's chest as he shivered, "You're the one who should be worried."
Alpha Darrow snapped, "Enough!" He shouted as he growled and his wolf burst onto the mat, shaking with anger and baring his teeth.
Everyone stumbled back but I held my ground. Not letting myself admire how beautiful his horrifying wolf was, I let him see all the hurt he made me feel and he took a step back. Memories of that night began to flash in my thoughts. This wolf that stood before me ripped apart so many, took so many lives. My heart ached and I could feel the blood tears but there was no premonition. My body trembled as fear exploded through me.
My mother snarled and stood in front of Darrow, "Go calm down."
For a split second, I saw pain in his eyes but he quickly covered it up with anger as he snarled with her.
"Darrow. What do you think you can accomplish right now?" Mom was trying to calm him down but she was weaker than normal, her powers were with me. He growled and turned and ran, breaking my heart but also giving me relief.
My heart ached as Maya ran after him. What had I just done?
Cris moved over to my side, "How about we do this tomorrow? I don't want to die today."
His comment made me chuckle, "That's probably best. I'm a little too worked up right now for a sparing match."
Everyone looked at me with sadness. It only added to my heart break. My wolf was crying and whimpering in pain at the loss of her mate. Please go after him. Please. He would never hurt us.
Grumbling, I pulled my sweatshirt on and headed after him. Nothing good could come of this. Again his smell brought me back to his room and I silently went to knock on the door. Things started to crash and fall. Pulling open the door, I found a half naked Darrow, pinning a shirtless Maya to the wall.
He snarled as his eyes met mine. I could feel the tears spill over. This was the last straw, I wouldn't deal with this, even if he was the only mate I was ever going to get. His eyes watched me in confusion until something clicked in his head.
"No. It's not..."
Before, he could get out another word, I turned and walked away. He stopped me in the hallway. "That wasn't what it looked like, neither was the other night. I promise."
My eyes refused to meet his gaze. His voice was enchanting enough, I couldn't let myself get lost in his eyes too. "I can't believe I saved myself for you."
He stepped back, his eyes wide and fearful but only for a moment and then the wall of anger was back. "Just do it already."
"Do what?"
"Reject me."
I looked at him in confusion and anger, "If that's what you want, do it yourself."
"Want?"
"Yeah well sleeping with her the first night you find me, doesn't really scream you want to keep me around."
He growled and caged me against the wall, "I didn't fuck anyone! She came into my room butt ass naked and I told her to leave." He pressed himself closer to me, electricity exploded throughout me where our skin brushed together.
Fighting the fear and lust, I yelled, "Then what was that I just witnessed?"
He growled and pushed off the wall away from me, shoving his hands through his hair in anger. "That was me trying to stop her from taking her clothes off again!"
My wolf purred in relief. You know he is telling the truth. You can hear it and feel it. You know he didn't touch her like that.
"So you two never..."
His face flashed fear again, "Not for...a while."
The thought of him with someone else made me want to snap her neck and my heart ached. It wasn't like me to want to be violent, I wasn't violent. "This hurts."
He glared, "I wish I could take it back. I want to show you I can be good enough for you. I can be worthy of you. Please don't give up on me yet. Let me have until the end of the week." His voice was broken and I could feel all his pain and fear. This was not the man I had heard of or seen rip up an entire pack - he had a heart. Maybe it was an act though? Maybe his soul really was gone.
My wolf growled at me, Give him a chance. His soul is ours and ours his.
My body wanted to reach out and touch him, make him feel better but I held back, still not able to trust him. "Maybe you should start locking your doors."
His eyes lit up, "You mean..."
Taking in a deep breath, I sighed, "Let's start over."
Straightening up, he held out his hand, "Im Alpha Darrow but you and only you can call me Josh."
I shook his hand, sparks ignited in my palm, "I'm Luna, you can call me Luna."
The corner of his lips turned up the smallest bit in amusement, "It's an honor to meet you. I've heard many things about you."
"Like?"
"You're spirited."
Laughing, I shrugged and turned away from his black, intense gaze, "Understatement of the century."
His small smirk came back to his lips and my heart melted. But in the back of my thoughts, I was angry for falling for his act. He was a cold blooded murderer. He couldn't be trusted.
My wolf sighed, Goddess gave him to us for a reason. Give him a chance. He's mine!
He has until the end of the week.
