Chapter 21: The Message

(Hey I hope that you guys like this chapter. I also have an announcement to make about the future of the book. It's not bad but it's something that I have thought about.)

We open on a quiet night with Steven, David, and Greg playing with some of his music equipment. "It's so cool that you still have this dad." He said to his dad.

Greg said "Yeah and you can do all sorts of things with it." He grabbed a mic that made him sound like a robot. "Steven you're dad's a robot now and I can teach you all sorts of fun things."

Steven asked "What's all the awesome energy coming from."

Greg said "Well I was actually inspired by Lapis and I made some cool cover art. He showed it to Steven and David. "Be careful since there still might be some smudges."

David said "It looks great though I hope your lyrics are okay."

Greg gave a guitar to Steven asking him if he could plug it up so they could play.

Steven plugged it and it didn't work. Greg told him that they were making audio for this.

Steven said that he had no idea what he was talking about.

Greg said that it's okay and he is all about the audio. He also said that they would need a cool hook.

Greg went to play a version that was making Lapis sound mean. Steven played a soft and sweet version of the song and Greg wrote down some of the lyrics down.

Something came from the van that sounded like something screaming. Greg, Steven and David were shocked with Steven and David going to the house trying to see what it is. They got there with Pearl saying that it was the wailing stone and that they don't know how to stop it.

The gems tried ways to stop it like trapping it in a bubble or just tapping the button to shut it off. It didn't work and garnet put some pillows on the wailing stone. The gems went to discuss how it activated and what it meant now. Garnet guessed that it meant that someone was sending a message. Pearl guessed that it had a distorted audio and Steven suggested his dad.

Greg was excited that the Gems were asking him for help. He tried to decode the message with it ending with a voice sounding like screaming and the van breaking down.

The Gems said that they would find another way and then they left. Greg was sad and sang a song about how he couldn't do what he needed to do to help them. After that, Steven went to comfort his dad knowing that there has to be a way. Steven and Greg guessed that it would have to do with video.

After that, Steven, David and Greg went to convince the gems to try again. Once they tried again, it worked and it showed Lapis telling the gems and others that they need to just surrender and it will be fine.

The gems were shocked and Pearl was surprised with Garnet telling Greg thank you and the gems left. Once that was over, David, Steven, and Greg went to play with the guitars and David brought his own and smiled.

(Well this is my next chapter. Now my announcement is that after season 1 of this book, I am gonna make another book going over season 2. I hope you like the book.)
