As I entered our room, I couldn't help but notice Nandani's absence, a faint pang of envy creeping into my thoughts as I imagined her on her first date with Rohan.
It made me chuckle softly to myself, wondering when someone would whisk me away on a romantic evening filled with care and affection.
Lost in my musings, I was startled by a knock on the door, and I hurried to answer it, only to find Nandani standing there in a t-shirt that wasn't hers.
"Nandani, what's with the outfit change?" I asked, puzzled by her sudden wardrobe switch.
With a sheepish grin, Nandani launched into an animated recount of her date with Rohan, the mishap with the spilled juice, and Rohan's sweet gesture of lending her his t-shirt.
I couldn't help but tease her mercilessly, a mischievous twinkle in my eyes as I replied,
"Well, well, seems like someone had quite the eventful evening! Who would've thought you'd be borrowing clothes on the very first date?"
Nandani rolled her eyes playfully, a blush creeping up her cheeks as she defended herself,
"Hey, it's not like I planned for this to happen! But Rohan was such a gentleman about it, I couldn't say no."
As we laughed and joked about her unexpected wardrobe change, my phone buzzed with a notification from Prem. Curious, I opened the message
Mr. Shy : Hii ma'am
Me: Hey Prem! I must say, your poetic skills are quite impressive. 😊
Mr. Shy: Thank you. Your eyes were the inspiration behind those words. How's your day going?
Me: Haha, smooth talker, aren't you? 😏 My day's been pretty good, but it just got better after hearing from you. What about you? Surviving the college chaos?
Mr. Shy: Guilty as charged! 😅 College chaos is nothing compared to the chaos in my heart since I saw you. 🙈
Me: aacha jii. So, tell me, what's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?
Mr. Shy: Hmm, last June I jumped into a river without knowing it was 200 feet deep
Me: what really 😂
Mr. Shy: arey aage suno, so Whenboatwala told me this.
Mr.shy: I freaked out
Me: ofcourse yrr then ?
Mr. Shy:My heart jumps from my body.
Mr. Shy: Jo cheeje apni jgh rhni chahiye, Wo mu mei aa gyi.🙂
Me: aacha shi h bhut 😂😂👍
Mr. Shy: 😅😅 yah it's normal by the way.
Me: Oh great. I'll talk to you later. Good night Prem!
Mr. Shy: Good night Alisha.
A smile crept onto my face, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement.
There was something about his words that felt different from the usual messages I received from boys.
It was refreshing, intriguing even, and I found myself wanting to know more about him.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't notice Nandani until she snapped her fingers in front of my face, bringing me back to reality.
"Oo Prem ki Deewani" her words caught me off guard, and I couldn't help but chuckle at her teasing.
"How did you know his name?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"His? Who is 'his,' bro?" Nandani replied, blinking in confusion.
I explained to her about the guy who had texted me, revealing his name as Prem.
Nandani's laughter echoed in the room as she clapped her hands in amusement.
"What a coincidence, bhayii!" she exclaimed, teasing me further.
"Come on, say it once, 'Main Prem ki Deewani hun!'" she joked, causing me to roll my eyes in response.
"Oh, shut up, bitch," I retorted playfully.
As we continued to chat, I shared all the details with Nandani, who listened with growing amazement.
She urged me to show her a picture of Prem, but I hesitated, admitting that I didn't have one.
"Check his profile, maybe?" Nandani suggested eagerly.
I shook my head. "I already did, but there aren't any. It's just some poetry and shayari stuff."
Nandani's expression turned serious as she sensed something amiss. "Hmm, something is fishy, bro. You should ask him for his picture," she advised.
Agreeing with her, I decided to message him about it the next day.
With that settled, we bid each other goodnight and drifted off to sleep, the mystery of Mr. Shy lingering in my mind.
