Alisha's POV:

As I woke up to a message from Shubham, my heart fluttered at his sweet words-

I'll miss you and please take care of yourself.

A smile crept onto my face, but it didn't last long as the days turned into weeks, and Shubham's communication dwindled.

I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling that something was off. He seemed distant, only replying to my messages when I reached out first.

Whenever I tried to discuss it, he brushed off my concerns, accusing me of overthinking.

Then, one day while scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon Shubham's story, only to find him mentioned back on a girl's picture.

My heart sank, but I tried to convince myself I was just being paranoid.

Unable to ignore the gnawing feeling in my gut, I mustered the courage to reach out to the girl directly.

Her response shattered me to the core- He's my boyfriend from the last two years.

I refused to believe it. Shubham would never betray me like this. But when I confronted him with the screenshot, his response crushed me even further.

"Alisha, she is telling the truth, but also lying."

My world came crashing down as I read his words.

"How could you do this to me, Shubh?" I typed, my fingers trembling with emotion.

His reply only added salt to the wound.

"We'll talk about it once I'm there. I'll explain everything, not now, Alisha."

I couldn't contain the flood of tears that spilled from my eyes.

Desperate to hide my pain from Nandani, who was still asleep, I rushed to the bathroom, turning on the tap to drown out my sobs as I sank to the floor, feeling utterly shattered and betrayed.

As the days passed, each one feeling longer and more unbearable than the last, I found myself counting down the moments until Shubham's return.

Yet, despite the impending reunion, a heavy cloud of uncertainty and heartache hung over me like a dark shadow.

Every night, I wrestled with the urge to confide in Nandani, to seek solace in her comforting embrace as I poured out my anguish and sorrow.

But fear held me back, the fear of facing the truth and the fear of shattering the illusion of the love I had once believed in.

Instead, in the solitude of the night, I found myself consumed by thoughts of Shubham, replaying our moments together in my mind like a broken record.

But now, each memory felt tainted, each smile and every whispered promise a painful reminder of the betrayal that lurked beneath the surface.

I cried myself to sleep each night, my tears staining my pillow as I grappled with the realization that perhaps everything we shared was nothing but a lie.

Finally, Shubham returned, and his message asking to meet sent a shiver down my spine.

I agreed to meet him and his impatient message made me roll my eyes. It seemed as though he was doing me a favor by waiting.

When I saw him waiting in his car, my heart raced with fear of being overheard.

As we found a spot, I wasted no time in demanding answers.

"You better start explaining," I told him firmly, my heart pounding with anticipation.

But instead of appearing remorseful, Shubham seemed relaxed as he confessed, "Chandni my love, she was my girlfriend two years ago."
