Siddhart's POV:
The next day we all were sitting together in the cafeteria—Nandani, Rohan, Alisha, and myself. A nearby conversation caught our attention.
"Did you hear? Shubham got attacked by dogs last night, and now he's in the hospital," one person remarked.
Another person added, "Yeah, serves him right for parading around naked in front of them."
The group laughed, but Alisha's reaction caught my eye.
She seemed genuinely shocked by the news, unaware of our involvement in the incident.
The three of us—Nandani, Rohan, and I—shared glances, struggling to contain our amusement, knowing we had a hand in Shubham's unfortunate situation.
We suppressed our laughter, but eventually, we all muttered,
"Karma is a bitch."
Alisha, surprisingly, seemed unfazed and simply shrugged in agreement, her expression remaining neutral.
As the conversation continued, I decided to shift the focus and suggested,
"Hey, why don't we all go watch a movie and then have dinner afterward?"
I smiled, hoping to lift the mood.
Rohan and Nandani were immediately excited by the suggestion, turning their attention to Alisha to see if she agreed.
"I think it's a good idea," Alisha said, a hint of enthusiasm in her voice. The others nodded in agreement.
It was clear she needed a break from the recent events, and spending time together might be just what we all needed.
As the plan was set, Rohan grinned and turned to me, his mischievous smile giving him away.
"So, Siddhart, what movie are we going to see? Is it going to be one of those action films?"
I chuckled and shook my head.
"Not this time, Rohan. We'll pick something everyone can enjoy, maybe a comedy or romcom one."
Rohan pumped his fist in the air, pleased with the response.
"Perfect! I'm all for some romcom."
With that, our little group seemed ready to move on from the drama surrounding Shubham and focus on a fun evening together.
After class, Rohan and I headed back to our dorm to change for the evening plans.
Once we were dressed and ready, Rohan spoke up as we were about to head out.
"You know, Siddhart, I think you planned this outing more for Alisha than for us,"
he teased, giving me a knowing look.
I raised an eyebrow, curious. "And how did you figure that out?"
He smirked and shrugged.
"You don't like watching movies in theaters. And you seemed pretty determined to plan this evening. Plus, Alisha could use a distraction."
I couldn't help but laugh at his accurate assessment.
"Alright, you got me there," I admitted.
"But it's for all of us to have a good time, not just Alisha."
"Sure, sure," Rohan said playfully, nudging me.
"Just don't forget to enjoy the movie too."
We drove to the girls' hostel, where Alisha and Nandani were waiting for us.
