Maylea
-Moon, come on. Calum is waiting for you. -My dad said for the third time as he observed how I shoved some last moment things into my purse.
-I'm almost done, tell him I'll be right down.
I saw him smiling and shaking his head in negation before leaving my room and going downstairs.
-Okay... There's my passport, my identification, driving licence, phone, charger, headphones, snacks... -I started to check everything out loud just to be sure I had all I needed-. Perfect!
I took that bag, since the rest of my luggage was already downstairs probably being brought inside a car so we could go to the airport, and then I went to my dressing room, where I had a little gift prepared for Calum. Right after we came back from Palo Alto the other day, I rushed to buy that because I needed to thank him somehow for making me so incredibly happy and for all he's done for me. Also, it was a great way of closing an ongoing joke between us.
After a quick last glance at my bedroom, I went downstairs, trying to hide my boy's gift so he wouldn't see it first thing when I appeared, even though it was hard because that was almost bigger than me. Last night was one of the final nights for me in that house for a while, since I was going almost directly to Palo Alto when tour was over; so while I tried to spend some time with dad, inviting him to dinner and then to get some ice cream to the place I loved as a kid, to which I also brought Calum some time. During dinner, we talked about my transfer and he showed me some of the apartments he'd find for me, so I could choose before leaving, and I did. There was an apartment really close to the gardens Cal and I danced in after visiting Stanford, so close I could see it from the windows, it also had a nice balcony and three rooms, so I could invite friends over whenever I wanted. Besides that were the kitchen, a big space for the living and dining room and two bathrooms, one on suite for a bedroom, that was going to be mine, and then the other for everyone else. I really liked that place and maybe if I actually liked it, I could find myself more comfortable there. Anyway, in some days dad was going to meet the owner of the house to sign some papers in my name and get the keys, that way all my things can start getting moved from Los Angeles to the new city. I was also going to look for some furniture so he could order it and decorate the apartment because it was completely empty and I was not going to move somewhere with no furniture.
-Maylea, you'll end up missing the flight. -Dad warned me from the front door this time.
-I'm here, I'm here. It's okay. -I said, leaving Calum's gift aside for a moment, so I could to out to meet him.
Once outside, I saw my boyfriend arranging some things in the trunk of the car that was going to get us to the airport, so I approached to greet him and tell him about the surprise, but the surprise was mine the moment he faced me and I saw his hair.
-Oh my God! Cal, you look so good! -I exclaimed, getting closer so I could see him better.
Before, his hair was a plain dark brown, almost black but not quite, but now he had a blonde stroke in the front that I absolutely loved. I wasn't expecting that change at all.
-You like it? -He asked, kinda shy.
-I'm obsessed. It really suits you. -I said and kissed him.
-I wasn't sure if I liked when I first did it, but now I think I do. -He had an awkward smile that made me giggle and kiss him again-. Anyway, lady, are you ready to go? The boys are going to go crazy in the airport.
-I am, but first, I've got something for you. Close your eyes and give me a second to go get it.
He rolled his eyes, laughing, and nodded.
