"Hi, mum." Harry shouted.

"Kitchen!" His mum shouted back.

He kicked off his shoes and walked into the kitchen. His mum smiled and hugged him. He sat at the table and she poured him a cup of tea. Sunday breakfast was their thing.
"How's work?" His mum asked as she took a seat.

"Great! I finally hired someone to cover the track." Harry answered.

"About time!" His mum smiled.

"Yeah, funny thing though, he can't actually skate but he's kind of lying about it." Harry said with an amused smile.

"Oh, isn't that the whole purpose? I mean? Why did you hire him if he can't skate?" His mum questioned.

"Well, first of all, he told me that he could, and secondly, do you know how unfair the job market is for an omega?" Harry said.

"I'm well aware." His mother said, being an omega herself.

"It's not right!" Harry huffed.

"I know sweetie. So, he's a male omega?" Anne asked.

"Yeah." Harry shrugged.

"Is he cute?" Anne asked with an amused smile.

"Yeah, but that's not why I hired him." Harry protested.

"Of course not! I'm glad you're giving him a chance." Anne smiled.

"Yeah, he's quite disastrous but feisty. He's really trying." Harry chuckled.

"Right." His mum said and he was lost in thoughts so he missed the look she gave him.

In the meantime, Louis was trying to get out of bed but his feet were swollen and aching. He somehow made it downstairs. His mum took one good look at him.
"You have to call in sick."

"Absolutely not! It's only me second day at work and I just have two weeks to prove meself." Louis protested fiercely.

"How are you supposed to stand on a pair of roller skates?" His mum questioned.

"I'll figure it out. I don't start until four. I'm probably feeling much better by then." Louis said.

He wasn't but that didn't stop him from going to work. He slowly made his way into The Dome and put on a brave face. He brought his own skates this time. They would probably fit him better. Luckily he was sitting down when Harry walked over to greet him.
"Everything's alright?"

He could probably sense his inner omega getting distressed. Louis took a deep breath to calm down and smiled.
"Absolutely!"

Harry didn't look convinced but he nodded his head encouragingly and walked away. Louis managed to get the skates on and headed out on the rink. He clenched his jaw as he tried to skate slowly. The lesson with Niall yesterday really helped. He still sucked at it but at least he could make it over the track without falling.

His legs and feet were so sore though. Every step hurt. His inner omega was getting really distressed but he ignored it. An alpha rolled up next to him.
"Hi sugar, I can take care of you."

"No thanks, I'm fine." Louis replied and tried to roll away from the alpha but he grabbed his arm and yanked it so hard that Louis fell to the ground.

"Get the fuck away from him!" Someone growled beside him and Louis turned his head just to find Harry standing next to him, glaring at the other alpha.

Before Louis could get back his feet Harry had picked him up and carried him bridal style over the track.
"I'm fine, Harry. Let me down. I have a job to do." Louis protested weakly.

Harry didn't answer. He carried him to his office and gently placed him on a chair before he hunched and started to remove Louis' roller skates.
"I'm fine!" Louis said once more.

Harry glanced at him.
"No, you're not, Louis. You're in pain and your inner omega is in distress. I can scent it and feel it which is kind of weird... Never mind, roller skates are clearly not your thing."

Louis couldn't help it. His stress levels skyrocketed and he burst out crying.
"I can do it. Please, Harry. Don't fire me."

Harry pulled him in for a hug. Louis could smell his alpha scent and realized that Harry was releasing calming pheromones to help him.
"Hey, I haven't said anything about firing you. Your feet hurt right? You can work the register for a while. It's probably safer for you anyway, but if you really wanna learn how to skate I will teach you myself."

"Why?" Louis questioned. He had managed to calm down quickly.

Harry pulled away and stood up.
"This is my place and I do what I want. You deserve a chance. No more lies though. Okay?"

"Okay. Harry? I can't really skate." Louis said and stared at him with big blue eyes.

"No shit!" Harry grinned and burst out laughing.
