When Harry left Louis' apartment he had to kick a lamp pole to get his frustration out. Unfortunately, he aimed perfectly and for a second he was sure he had broken several toes. He jumped around on one foot and let out a bunch of swearing words, at least until an old lady with a dog passed him and gave him a chilly look.

He got in his car and drove home. He lay awake for hours trying to think of a plan to win Louis over. What he had told him about his mum explained a lot but it also made everything much more complicated.

He had to prove to Louis that he was nothing like his dad and that required both time and patience. He just hoped that Louis would give him a fair chance. He understood why he was afraid but that didn't mean that Harry didn't take it personally. Just the thought of being compared to Louis' dad gave him the shivers. He decided to call his best friend for advice. After listening to Zayn talk about tablecloths for the wedding for fifteen minutes he cut in.
"Louis is afraid that I will be abusive and controlling."

Zayn immediately got upset for his sake.
"What? He actually accused you of that? What the hell!"

"No, no, no. He told me of an awful soulmate experience for someone close to him." Harry explained without revealing too much.

"And indirectly he's comparing you to that person." Zayn answered.

"He doesn't know me that well and I don't even know if he's aware that I'm his soulmate yet." Harry felt the need to defend Louis.

"Trust me, he knows." Zayn snorted.

"Yeah, maybe." Harry sighed unhappily.

"Frankly, I don't get it. Liam is his best friend! He has an alpha as his closest lad." Zayn said.

"That's different. They've never been romantically involved." Harry pointed out.

"Yeah, that's true. What are you gonna do?" Zayn wondered.

"I have to win his trust. Friends first then we'll see. Maybe you can talk to him? You know omega to omega?" Harry pleaded.

"Oh, I don't know. The only thing we have in common is our secondary gender. I don't even know the guy. Why would he talk to me?" Zayn hesitated.

"You both love Liam. That's a start. Please, Zayn. He needs to see that finding your soulmate can be a fantastic thing." Harry said.

"Fine, I'll try for your sake." Zayn agreed.

"Thank you." Harry answered.

He fell asleep feeling a little better. The next day at work he tried his best to give Louis space and still be around. At the end of the day, he suggested that he would come over and teach Louis how to make curry chicken and rice and mentioned the planning of the bachelor party as an excuse, and to his surprise Louis agreed.

He stopped by the grocery store on his way to Louis' apartment and picked up the ingredients.

They had a great time together. He made sure to not invade Louis' personal space but he made him laugh and saw that as a success. They made progress in planning the bachelor party as well.

He offered to teach him to cook something else the day after that and continued like that. On Friday Zayn came to The Dome during lunch. He sat opposite Louis.
"Hi, ehm, crazy idea but would you like to help me find my wedding outfit tomorrow if you're not busy? It would be nice to have another omega with me and eh, my sisters are all betas and my mum is busy." Zayn rambled nervously.

Louis stared at him in surprise.
"Eh, sure. I guess I can do that."

"Great! I'll pick you up at 12. You have the day off, right?' Zayn smiled.

"Right." Louis confirmed.

Zayn smiled at him before he got up and left. Louis turned to Harry.
"Are you behind this?"

"Zayn is marrying your best friend. You should get to know him." Harry shrugged.

"Yeah." Louis agreed.
