A continuance of the suggestions in the previous chapter.

Zayn picked him up and they spent twenty minutes in the car together in an awkward silence. Louis was ready to go home. He had no idea why Zayn had suggested this. Well, he had his suspicions. They reached the mall and got out of the car.
"So, what are you looking for?" Louis asked politely.

"I don't know if I want something classical in black or make it a little more fun. I'm glad Harry isn't here. I love him to death but he has a questionable taste in formal wear but he can rock anything, you know?" Zayn chuckled.

"I'm sure you're right." Louis smirked.

They headed to a store that sold formal wear and Zayn looked around. They didn't talk and Louis couldn't stand the silence.
"How about we try on the most outrageous things we can find?" He suggested.

"Alright." Zayn giggled and picked out a bright pink suit with a matching pink button-up shirt with a massive frill.

Louis cackled out loud and did his best to outdo him, finding a yellow and black suit in a checkers pattern. Zayn giggled again and they headed to the dressing rooms. Louis put the suit on and laughed at his image in the mirror before he stepped out to show Zayn. They both laughed at each other's outfits before they changed back to their normal clothes.

The silly outfits were an icebreaker. They started chatting while they walked around the store and found suitable formal wear for the wedding. Louis convinced Zayn to try out a midnight blue suit with a silver lining.

He took a seat in front of the dressing room while Zayn tried different options. He came out and showed him every change. They had picked a black suit, a grey, a white and the midnight blue.
"What do you think? My favorites are either the black one or the midnight blue." Zayn said thoughtfully.

"Both good options. You know, you could choose a purple shirt or something to go with the black suit if you wanna make it more fun." Louis suggested.

"Great idea. Can you find me one?" Zayn smiled.

Louis got up on his feet and headed back out in the store and returned shortly thereafter with three button-up shirts in different shades of purple.

Zayn tried them all and liked the dark purple best. Louis agreed. Zayn decided that he had found his outfit and they chose a tie to go with it before he paid for everything.
"That was over quickly." Louis smiled.

"I need shoes too. Oh, and I have to find a present for Liam, you know for the morning after. Maybe you could help me with that. You know him best." Zayn said.

Louis glanced at the omega beside him as they made their way through the mall.
"Sure. Eh, Zayn, can I ask you something without you getting offended?"

"You can ask but I can't promise that I won't be offended." Zayn smirked.

"Right, why are you both in such a hurry to get married? You don't even know each other that well. You're still in that phase where you're showing all your best sides and hiding the bad ones." Louis said.

Zayn stopped walking and looked at him.
"No, Louis. We've passed that phase and I don't think either of us went through that, where we pretended to be better than we are. There's this instant connection between soulmates that is difficult to describe for someone who hasn't experienced it but I have never been more honest, vulnerable, or open with anyone before, not even Harry. It's the same with Liam and please don't take that the wrong way. You know him better than in many ways because you've known him for so long but I know him too. I know how grumpy he is when he's tired and all of his bad habits, but that makes me love him even more. I agree that there's so much more about him that I will find out but that makes it exciting, you know?"

"I guess." Louis mumbled.

"We're not getting mated right away. We'll start with marriage. But it's not because neither of us aren't sure about it. I wanna mate Liam. I know he's the one I'm going to spend the rest of my life with." Zayn said.

"Why wait then?" Louis questioned.

"We want to build a strong foundation before we're able to feel each other's emotions. Adding that to the mix before you're ready to handle that both emotionally and like, being mature enough, must be really tough. We don't want that. Does that make sense?" Zayn wondered.

"It makes total sense. Look! Those purple dress shoes match your shirt!" Louis said and pointed at a pair of shoes on display.

"Let's try them on!" Zayn grinned.

He ended up buying them and then they bought a necklace for Liam before they headed back to the car and Zayn drove him home.
"Louis? Give Harry a chance. I can vouch that he's a really great guy. Don't push him away." Zayn said.

"Yeah." Louis answered in lack of something better to say.

They reached his apartment building.
"I had fun today." He said.

"Me too. Let's do it again soon. Maybe lunch?' Zayn suggested.

"Sure." Louis agreed before he got out of the car and waved goodbye as Zayn drove off.

It had been as he suspected. Harry must have asked Zayn to talk to him but he didn't actually mind. The alpha was growing on him and that was scary as hell.
