Harry had been in an awful mood lately and he knew exactly why. His soulmate was a stubborn moron!

He hadn't listened to his inner alpha the first time he met the omega, totally ignoring that feeling of finding his missing piece. When Liam and Zayn met he realized what was going on between him and his new employee but apparently Louis was clueless. The way he distanced himself from him made him question it at first. Maybe he was wrong?

A couple of days later there was no doubt in his mind that Louis was his soulmate. His inner alpha was screaming at him to do something but Louis had made it perfectly clear nothing would ever happen between them so Harry backed off and waited.

When a month had passed and Louis hadn't acknowledged their bond he was climbing the walls. How could Louis be so clueless? Maybe it didn't work the same way for omegas? He called Zayn and asked how he knew that Liam was his soulmate and Zayn's answer was the same as he had experienced himself. Louis should be able to tell as well but he just held him at arms length. Harry got sad and frustrated. Louis even smelled like him nowadays from a distance. His alpha scent had found its way to Louis without him even trying. How could Louis not know?

He felt rejected and hurt. This wasn't how he had imagined finding his soulmate. The thought of firing him so the whole "You're my boss" thing got out of the way crossed his mind but he couldn't do that. Louis was so happy to have a job and he had just heard him telling Niall that he got his first apartment.

He did what he could. Mostly he just stayed out of his way because he didn't know how to act around him. He offered to help Louis move at least.

Two days later Louis invited him to a housewarming party and Harry accepted the invitation. He thought about buying him flowers but Louis would probably not like that so he bought a doormat instead.

Louis wasn't totally unaware of the effect his boss had on him but he did his best to push all of that away and focused on his party. He had never had one before and the idea of inviting people over to his own place excited him tremendously. He spent two days preparing. He bought chips, dip, and beer and decorated his small apartment.

He had invited Liam, Zayn, Lottie, Fizzy, and Niall. He hesitated a little but finally managed to give Harry an invite too, stumbling over his words. It felt wrong to leave him out, especially since Harry's best friend and his best friend were an item now. Harry looked really happy over the invite and promised to be there.

His sisters arrived first and he showed them around his new place. Zayn and Liam were the next to arrive, shortly followed by Niall. He gave them the grand tour as well and put on some music. He had made his own mix tape for the occasion, spending his evenings recording songs from the radio.

A knock on the door made his stomach twist. He went to open the door. Harry looked him in the eyes and held out a doormat with a bow on it. That was kind of a weird present.
"Thank you." Louis said politely and let him inside.

Harry walked up to Zayn and Louis made sure that everyone, except his sisters, had something to drink while his stereo played a Michael Jackson song. Niall came up to him.
"Who's the blonde?"

"Me sister, Lottie." Louis informed him.

"Beta, right?" Niall asked.

"Yeah." Louis shrugged.

"Single?" Niall asked.

"Ehm, yes." Louis replied.

"Hold my beer, I'm going in." Niall said and handed him his beer.

"Wait a minute! You can't hit on me sister, Niall! Bro code!" Louis protested.

"Well, there's only two girls here. Suit yourself." Niall grinned.

"They're both me sisters!" Louis huffed.

"Come on, is it that bad if I flirt a little with your sister? I'm a nice guy and the only one who's single among us guys." Niall whined.

"What the fuck are you talking about? How drunk are you? I'm single too! So it Harry." Louis protested. Why did he have to blush as soon as he mentioned Harry?

"Uhm, right. Did I say single? Silly me. I meant straight." Niall chuckled.

Louis glared at him.
"You can talk to me sister. Talk!"

"Of course." Niall said and left.

Louis watched as he approached her but looked away after a while since Lottie was smiling while talking to Niall. He had finished his beer and headed to the small kitchen to get another one. He found Harry in there looking through his freezer.
"What are you doing?" Louis asked.

"I'm looking for ice. Are you aware that you don't have anything to eat in here?" Harry questioned.

Louis huffed and opened the fridge.
"Tada!" He said and gestured and the milk, butter and cheese on a shelf.

"Oh, pardon me. I see now that you have plenty of food." Harry smirked then he looked worried "Am I not paying you enough so you can afford to buy food?"

Liam entered the kitchen at that moment and burst out laughing.
"Louis can't cook!"

Louis blushed. Harry looked both amused and worried at the same time.
"Of course I can! Come on, I wanna dance!" Louis said to change the subject.

He took Liam's hand and dragged him back to the living room. Zayn joined as well and they stood in a ring dancing. Louis looked up and Harry was next to him swaying to the music.
"How about you show us some of those those Flashdance moves you and Niall practiced?"

Louis didn't know if he was serious or if he was trying to make fun of him. He'll show him.
"Niall!" He shouted.

Niall joined them and they did their routine. Everyone clapped their hands.

It was a great party. Liam and Zayn were the first to leave. Niall offered to take Lottie and Fizzy home. Suddenly Harry was the only one left.
"I can help you clean." Harry offered.

"It's fine. I'll do it by myself." Louis dismissed him.

"Okay." Harry sighed. "Great party, Lou. I'll see you at work tomorrow."

"Yeah." Louis agreed.

He followed him to the door and said goodbye. Harry stopped in the doorway and turned around as if he wanted to say something. Louis just stared at him.
"Good night." Harry finally said and walked out.

Louis locked the door behind him. Harry had called him Lou. Bosses shouldn't give their employers nicknames. But Harry wasn't any regular boss, either. Louis sighed. Crap.
