"Mum! I need me sparkling disco outfit!" Louis yelled as soon as he stepped inside the house.

It was Saturday morning and he had to get ready for the bachelor party. Harry had closed The Dome that day and Louis was impressed. He would lose a lot of money doing so but Harry didn't seem to care. He walked into the kitchen and found his mum in a robe. He realized that it was quite early.
"I'm sorry to barge in so early."

"You're always welcome, Louis. I just hope your screaming from the hallway didn't wake your siblings." Jay smiled.

They listened for a moment but it was quiet upstairs.
"I haven't seen you in ages. Have a cup of tea. Tell me everything."

Louis poured himself a cup and took a seat.
"I love me new apartment, oh, Harry is teaching me how to cook. I love me job too. I know how to skate now. Harry taught me."

Jay smiled at him.
"Harry is your boss, right?"

"Yeah." Louis replied and took a sip. He burned his tongue.

"Why do you need your sparkling disco outfit?" Jay asked.

"Harry and I are throwing Liam and Zayn a bachelor party. Zayn is Harry's best friend." Louis informed him.

She looked surprised.
"Liam is getting married?"

"Yeah, he found his soulmate or whatever. Harry's best friend Zayn. He's an omega too. They surely aren't waiting. They only known each other for two months, mum." Louis said and rolled his eyes.

"I'm not surprised. Finding your soulmate is special. Of course, they don't wanna wait to get married." Jay smiled.

"Right." Louis snorted and then added, "At least they're not getting mated right now."

"That's a very mature decision. Oh, I'm so happy for Liam." Jay said with an excited smile.

"You are?" Louis questioned.

"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" Jay wondered.

"Dad." Louis mumbled. He didn't like to bring him up causing his mum more pain.

"Oh, sweetie, I decided a long time ago that I wouldn't let him dictate my life. Just because I had a bad experience with my soulmate doesn't mean that all alphas are like him. Mark is a wonderful man. Your dad was just one rotten egg amongst all the other normal eggs if you'll excuse that analogy." Jay said.

"I don't understand how you do that, mum." Louis sighed.

"Do what?" Jay wondered.

"I don't know. Like, trust alphas." Louis shrugged.

"You don't? Liam is an alpha, you trust him, right?" Jay questioned.

"Yeah, but that's different, mum. I've known him for ages, before he transitioned." Louis said.

"I'd hate it if my experience would hold you back the day you meet your soulmate, Louis. My life won't be your life." Jay said, sounding worried.

"How can I be sure of that? I've already found him, Mum." Louis said.

Jay smiled.
"Harry?"

"Yeah," Louis admitted.

"That's amazing, sweetie! I'm so happy for you. I'd like to meet him." Jay said excitedly.

"We're not together. I guess I'm scared?" Louis admitted.

"I understand, Louis but my experience isn't your experience. Get to know your alpha. Give him a chance, love. I'm sure he'll surprise you. Put your guard down. You don't have to mate him but you can date him." Jay said.

"Did you just rhyme? Geez, mum." Louis chuckled.

He found his sparkling disco outfit after that and headed back to his apartment to get ready. He thought a lot about what his mum had said. He knew she was right. The only way to know that Harry wasn't like his dad was to get to know him. He already doubted that Harry fit his dad's criteria, he just couldn't see it, but he had to be sure.
