Chapter two
I spent the weekend reading and running my dogs. They love to run and it's good exercise for me. But now it's Monday morning and I do not want to go to school.  But I have the entire school year to get through. So I get up and find something decent to wear. I put on my plain, brown skirt, yellow long sleeves ruffled blouse, boots, scarf, hat, coat and out the door I go, trudging through the snow to my snow mobile. I start her up and let her run a few minutes, push her through the gate and close it back up so the dogs don't get loose, and off I go. I love riding these things, kicking up the snow as I go. Fifteen minutes later I'm at school.

I pad lock my snow mobile to the hitching post, that's probably been their for a hundred years, and I go inside. I am walking to my locker with my head down when someone shoves me from behind. I fall down hard on my side. Kids are actually laughing. Nobody offers to even help me up or check to see if I'm ok. Finally an athletic looking boy with dark brown hair and blue eyes offers me his hand. I take it and he helps me up and asks me if I'm ok. Everyone else just continues laughing. I'm hurt, I'm embarrassed and my side hurts.

"My name is Dan, do you need to see the school nurse?"

"I'm not sure, my side hurts."

"Let's get you checked out, what's your name?"

"Mary, Mary Rogers, thank you for helping me."

"No problem Mary, I'm Dan Jones, glad to make your acquaintance."

"Yours too Dan lead the way."

Suddenly he scooped me up and carried me to the nurse's office.

"You are a gentleman, Dan Jones." Thank you, again."

    "You're very welcome, Mary Rogers."

So the nurse checked me out and decided I probably had a bruised rib which would heal in time, on it's own. The principle came in and questioned me about who may have pushed me. But I told him that I have no idea. And apparently nobody else does either or nobody is saying.

On my way to my locker I pass a boy who starts grabbing his crotch and saying, "Hey baby, I can make you feel better. I can make you feel real good."

I am so distraught by the way the kids in this school behave. I just want to go home and cry. And when school finally ended, among cheers and leers, I jumped on my snow mobile and headed deep into the forest with no idea where or why. I just needed some distance between me and them.

I don't know how much time had went by when my mobile hit a stump buried in the snow and threw me over the windshield. I landed with a thump, hitting my head on a rock. Then everything went dark.

Chapter Three
I awoke in what appeared to be a wood cabin. It was very warm and cozy inside, with a fireplace to keep warm. I am lying on a plush rug and I see a couch and a chair. There's a window over the couch, so I sit up and do my best to walk over and see outside. I place my knees on the couch and peer outside. To my surprise it appears I am high up in the trees. This must be a tree house. It's so cute. But who lives here? Did they carry me here? Where are they? The entire room is done in shades of green with green glass lanterns for lights, and paneled walls.
I turn around and sit looking around the room and listening for signs of life.

Suddenly a big, white Wolf appears in the doorway from another room. I scream and try to run to the door but the wolf blocks my way. I'm slowly backing up wondering what to do and where to go. The wolf just stands there watching me with big golden eyes. My heart is beating out of my chest and I feel totally light headed and it goes dark again.

I wake up with the wolf cuddled up beside me. His arm draped across me. My back is to his underside. I am totally terrified. We just stay like that. Neither of us moves. I can feel his breath on my neck. Any moment he could kill me and I am perfectly aware.

"Please, Mr. Wolf, don't eat me. I'm only seventeen. I haven't had a chance to be a wife and a mother yet. I want to live!"The wolf does not move and neither do I. After a time I just decided to talk to him. I told him about myself and my upbringing and how lonely I have been with nobody but my dogs to keep me company. I told him how afraid I have been at school and how I never want to go back. He doesn't answer me of course but neither does he eat me. So I just keep talking until the sun goes down and we both fall asleep.

When I woke up, the wolf was gone. I searched the entire house but there was nobody and no wolf. So I opened the door, climbed down the stairs and found my snow mobile. I sat it upright and turned the key. Fortunately, it started right up. Then I just followed my tracks from yesterday back to the school and then home. I had no intention of attending classes today. I needed the safety of my home and my dogs.
