Hazel's pov
I apologized first, "I am sorry," I said. She stared at me for some time, her gaze piercing yet curious, before she let out a soft giggle.
"Why?" she asked. She reached out to pat my head.
"Now please tell me everything," she insisted, her curiosity piqued.
"Who is he? Why are we here?"
"He is my brother," I replied, a hint of resignation in my voice.
"We are here because he knows that I won't come to greet him whenever he returns, so he will take me like this."
She sighed and said, "He is kind of like a sociopath. Anyways, you know his room, right? We might have made Sarah and Ash worried."
I frowned. "How will I know? It's really my first time coming here. He rarely comes to NYC."
She said, "Let's ask someone then."
We found a servant who was noticeably different from the others, and luckily, she was a woman.
Char went to ask her about Mags's room. The servant replied, "Non so l'inglese." (I don't know English.)
Char, with an irritating look, said, "Why does it have to be Italian? It would be even better if it's Spanish. We are stuck here."
I smiled. "Dov'è la stanza del signor Magnus? (Where is Mr. Magnus' room.)" I asked.
She replied, "Siete voi i due ospiti speciali? (Are you the two special guests?) Lasciate che vi mostri la strada. (Let me show you the way.)"
Shockingly, she showed Char's room and said that it's Mags's room.
Char told the servant, "Maybe you must be new here. It's my room."
She didn't understand, so she left.We saw our shopping mall bags, our phones, and other things on the bed. We left the place with those belongings.
We told the driver to drop us at our dorm because we had plenty of time.
After getting out of the car, Char said, "Thankfully, at least the driver knows English."
When we were walking towards the dorm, Char asked, "How do you know Italian?"
I smiled and replied, "My father used to stay in Italy all the time, so to impress him, I learned the language when I was 6"
"Then what about your brother?" she asked.
"He also lives in Italy and is more accustomed to that language,"
I explained. "In fact, he taught me Italian when I was 6.""I have many doubts," Char said. "I'll ask you about them all after returning from the university."
"Sure, ma'am," I replied, bowing before her.
She laughed. "I'm scared now. Sarah and Ashley will execute us," she said in a tense tone.
Char, Sarah, Ash, and I are dorm mates—I am only close to Char though.
Sarah is a kind-hearted and skilled person; she knows how to manage her fears and feelings, and not only that, she even manages time the best.Ash is like an active volcano; eruptions are her nature, but she's equally sweet. She doesn't get angry all the time, but when she does, we require a freezer to cool her down.
Finally, Charlotte is the coolest person and our major belle.
She has the patience of the earth, very calm and collected until it comes to me.
She's exactly like my brother Magnus, but she knows how to control her fear; he doesn't.
That's the only difference.
