Hazel's Pov
After Sarah went to Germany, we all missed her scoldings, especially Charlotte, lol.
Ash went back home today, and she might come back after a few days. So once again, it was just Carrie and me at dawn.
It’ll probably be kind of boring for her since I think she’s the type who gets overexcited about things.
But she started working on her drawing again. She’s a very good artist. She started painting portraits during high school, and she always wants to draw something amazing. The first portrait she ever did was of me. I’m really proud of that.
Her father called her two days ago, so I expect she’ll go home soon. Then I’ll be alone again.
I have to move out of the dorm, but it might not be possible since I have one more year left in college. So, I’ll just check on my apartment frequently until I graduate.
A few days back, while working, I broke my phone, and I needed to at least buy a calling char, Sarah and Ash.
It's 9 PM in Manhattan, so it must be past midnight in Germany.
Sarah should be sleeping by now.
I’m lost in my thoughts when someone interrupts me.
"Ms. Hazel," I hear someone call my name.
I look up to see who it is, thinking my parking job calls are done for the day.
"Your shift is over, and yet you’re still here?"
"Sorry, sir, I’m just packing my things and about to leave. Thank you, sir," I say as I start to walk away, but he grabs my wrist.
"It's too late. I will drop you," he insists.
"No problem, Mr. Thompson. I can go on my own. Please leave my hand. I have respect for you, and I don't want anyone to hurt you. Yes, it's actually too late, so I think you should go home." I pull my hand away firmly.
He tried to chase, but I didn’t give him the chance.
I struck him on the nape, and he fell unconscious. I hurriedly left the place, but I started feeling dizzy and scared.
I could collapse any moment, and suddenly, a black car stopped in front of me. A guard got out and opened the door for me.
Another car pulled up behind it, and more guards emerged, heading into the café.
It’s closing time on a weekday, so not many people were around—just enough for him to take a chance. I quickly got into the car.
Of course, all this happens when my brother is in the city.
As the car sped past the campus along the city highway, the air conditioner was on full blast, but I was still sweating heavily.
We eventually stopped near a huge mansion on the outskirts of Manhattan—the same one where my brother kidnapped me and kept Char and me.
I felt brave confronting that guy, but now fear has caught up with me, beating inside my chest.
I’m shivering, shaking, overwhelmed by the thought of facing people who could either ruin me or be ruined by me.
Today, I encountered both—Mr. Thompson, my boss whom I was scared of might ruin me and my brother whom I am scared that I would ruin him.
I stepped out of the car with no belief that I could overcome this fear—the fear of love, the fear of faith.
My mind raced as I walked a few steps, but a moment later, I was on the ground. Then, everything went black.

"Sometimes the real battle isn't against others, but against the fear inside us—the kind that makes every step feel heavy, and every breath feels like a risk."I guess it's quite a suspense. Isn't it?
I don't know when I will publish again so I gave a double update tdy.
I hope you liked it.
See you again my Jaans ❤️
