When Jermaine revealed that he was the one who bought the items and not my father, I felt upset. I had assumed that it was Eric who was taking me shopping, but instead, my father brought to tek man things. I was so blind and naive. It's no wonder that my father kept his mouth glued shut while Jermaine put words to me.
Mi did vex so 'til I gave the two of them the silent treatment. No matter how much Jermaine or my father a chat to me, I did not respond or look pon them.
When we reached home I did not wait for the car to park before I climbed out and stamped my way home. I heard Jermaine calling after me, but I never looked back.
When I finally got in, I saw Mommy and her two friends them a sit down on people name as per usual. Aunty Dion and Miss Gracie also had a bag, each with what looked like a grocery. That did kinda rubbed me the wrong way too but I just shook my head and said good night, then go inna the bathroom.
While I was washing the street off a mi, I heard my father's voice and Jermaine's as if mommy let them in, but by the time I came out, everyone, including Mommy, had gone bout their business. I took my phone up from where I left it since afternoon and saw that it only had two percent battery and that Mommy had left me a message.
Birthgiver: Mi changed the door lock and got a new padlock for the gate. Make sure you lock up mi place before you go sleep and try nuh let your friends dem come empty mi house.
Me: My friends? Lady, it was the key that you lost, so it's your people.
Birthgiver: Tamara don't come argue with me. Just make sure my place is locked and you're safe. Btw yuh man left two bags. Dem on your bed.
Me: My man? Tell me where mi fi get man from?
Birthgiver: Tan deh. Yuh think mi born yesterday? A when you a go move out? A that I want to know.
Thankfully, my battery died, so the phone shut off. I then carried the phone and put it on charger then did my skin routine and went commando, just wearing cotton shorts and a T-shirt.
I saw the two bags on my bed, but I cut my eyes at them and went to lock up the place and then turn the lights off. I then walked carefully in the dark to my bed, making sure to fling the bags off to wherever. It was dark, and I never cared to know where what went.

"Thank You, Father God, for another day," I said, rising from my bed. I had been awake for almost an hour thinking about yesterday. I began making my bed but ended up hissing my teeth and taking the bedspreads off. It was because I realized that today was my washday, and it's been over two days now since I changed my sheets.
I did the same thing for Mommy's bed, then got fresh linings and made both beds. Mommy is not here, so I decide to hide and use the washing machine and just pray that she doesn't come catch me. She would probably break my hand for touching her thing, I never know, but hopefully, I don't find out today.
I saw the bags on the floor and ignored them. I was curious, but at the same time, I was angry, so I cut my eyes at the bags once more as if they were Eric or even Jermaine. I just can't stand penis people. I think the world would be a better place without them. Well at least mine because I can more than do without them.
Anyway, I put the sheets in first, followed by the pillowcases. I selected the normal cycle with double rinse and then put the laundry detergent and fabric softener in the compartments. For the rest of the laundry, I will wash them in two pans with a washing brush, but for now, let me brush my teeth and drink some tea.
