"Happy Birthday Lyds," I texted her right when I woke up.

Today is April 8th, better known as Lucas and Lydia's birthday. Since it's a Friday, we are throwing their birthday bash tonight. I started getting ready for school while Connor was out on his morning run. I walked to the kitchen—yes, I walked! I got my prosthetic, which is a black mechanical leg. It looks a bit unusual, but I'll do anything to be able to walk. I still sleep without it for a more comfortable rest, but otherwise, I wear it full-time. Anyway, I decided to make waffles for breakfast. Just as I finished, I heard the door open.

"Hi babe," I yelled.
He came into the kitchen and said, "Good morning beautiful."
I blushed.
"Waffles are ready. What do you want on it?"
"Just syrup please," he replied.

I put syrup on both of our waffles and dropped some blueberries on our plates. We sat down and ate.

"I gotta take a quick shower," he said.
"Okay, babe see you in a bit."

He got up and I started cleaning up the room. I changed into my sweats because they were more comfortable. I tidied up our space since the bed was unmade and we both had clothes scattered around. He had practically moved all his things into my house. We divided up my closet and drawers. Of course, he brought over his Xbox as well. Connor came walking in wrapped in a towel.

"You better hurry we leave in ten minutes," I told him.
"I am don't worry," he replied.

I sat down and scrolled Instagram for a few minutes while he changed and brushed his teeth.

"You ready?" He asked.
"I was waiting on you let's go," I laughed.

We got out of the car and drove to school. Once we arrived, we sat in the parking lot for a while. Waiting for it to be 8. We don't like to go in too early. I walked to my homeroom, where I knew Lydia and I were just going to talk about her birthday party tonight. There still was some planning that needed to go into it.

I walked into class and she was already sitting there.

"Oh my god Lyssa we need to get planning," she said while I sat down.
"Ok go," I told her.
"Well, obviously the whole squad and basketball team are invited. I invited some football players that Jackson and Connor are friends with. Then some extras like Vera. Is that enough people?" She asked.
"ENOUGH? I think that's plenty! Your house sure isn't small but let's be real it's not that big." "Okay okay."

I grabbed my computer and took advantage of the silence to do my work. That lasted about five minutes.

"You should wear white Lyssa and I'll wear a light pink dress," she told me.
"Sounds great. What drinks are you thinking?" I asked.
"Pink Malibu punch and some seltzers. Lucas probably will throw in some bud lights though." "Perfect," I responded.

"I almost forgot," I told her.
"Forgot what?" she asked in confusion.

I took her birthday gift out of my backpack. It was in a white basket and had a light pink theme to match the party. I put in it the new coconut vanilla Kayali perfume she had been wanting. I bought her a cute light pink candle and a matching digital camera. I got her a new Kendra Scott necklace and white Ugg slippers.

"Oh my god this is adorable," she told me.
"I love you, happy birthday," I said.
"Thank you, I love you too."

The bell rang, and we went to our food class. We made mac and cheese. My other classes were boring, so I focused on homework until lunch. At lunch, we all discussed the upcoming party.

"Who is staying sober tonight?" Asked Drew.

We all looked around until Jackson said, "I'll take one for the team. I'm not feeling well anyway." "Thank you!" We all remarked.
