From what I know, Brooke is doing good. Occasionally, she will snap me a picture of my mini-me. It feels so accomplished knowing I helped save someone's life.

I gradually aroused and looked at the time, 10:30. Our Halloween party was tonight and Connor and I had the best outfit planned. We were shark and shark bite. He was wearing an all-gray outfit with sharp teeth on the shirt. I was going to go back to crutches for this one night and cover my stub in fake blood. I finally was able to joke about this whole situation. I would consider that growth. I was excited to show off my costume but I hated Halloween. The constant jumpscares and fear, are not my cup of tea.

I went to work at the beginning of my day. I then did a quick makeup routine and threw my hair up in a slick back. I put on a bikini and took my prosthetic off. I put one of Connor's shirts on as a cover-up. I grabbed the crutches and got in the car. We got to the Monroe's and people thought my costume was hilarious. I poured fake blood all over my leg and helped the girls finish getting ready. Lydia and Jackson were Fortnite characters. It finally hit 8:30 so we headed over to Henry's party. Once we arrived, I left the shirt in the car and went inside in just a bikini.

Everyone I talked to loved my costume. "That is so funny," Tara said. "Thanks," I laughed. Someone turned the lights off and it freaked me out. I grabbed onto Drew who was standing next to me. The lights finally came back on but I was still a little freaked.

"I'm going to go get a breath of fresh air," I said to Lydia.

She nodded as I walked out the door. Connor must have seen me because he followed me.

"I know you don't like the scares. You never have," he said as he comforted me outside.

Out of nowhere a man dressed as a ghost face jumped out. I screamed and jumped into Connor's arms. Grant laughed and took his mask off.

"Not funny man," Connor said.
"What you don't like scares Alyssa," he said in a whiny voice.
"Bitch," I muttered.
"So where are you committing to?" I asked him.

      He also played football.

"CU." He said.
"Oh good for you," I smiled.

I decided to be mature about the situation. We went back inside.

"I forgot how annoying crutches were," I told Connor.
"It sure has been a while," he said.
I smiled.

I continued making small talk until it was time to go. We went back to the Monroe's and I took a much-needed shower. I got rid of the old crutches and took my leg back. Those long months on crutches were plenty of time for me. We went downstairs and turned on Scream, a classic.

"What a successful last Halloween in high school," I thought.
