Chapter 24: A Star

"Wow! You were correct!" Rosalina says, surprised.

"So, it was a trick all along?" Toadlia asks.

"Yes. It was a test to see if you had forgotten about Mario, and you haven't. It is good to see that you have not given up on your goal," Blizzard says.

"Wait... How do you know about my goal?" I ask.

Blizzard laughs.

"That is one of my many powers. I could sense how much you cared for him. That is why you deserve this Cosmic Shard. Now leave here. Time is running out. The Dark forces are gathering... The final battle has almost begun. You need to leave here. Find the Raindrop Amulet before it is too late....," Blizzard says.

"Final battle? Dark forces? What is....," Rosalina starts.

But then we all get thrown into a massive purple portal. We get spun around several times before finally getting thrown down in the Mushroom Kingdom.

"Huh? We're back here?" Toadlia asks.

I look around. The others are all here. And we seem to have all the current keys with us as well.

"Well, only the Raindrop Amulet left. Then we can head to the Shadow Temple," Rosalina says.

"But what about the things that Blizzard was telling us about. The darkness approaching... The final battle.... What exactly was she talking about?" Lavender asks.

"I don't know. But whatever it is, we need to find out quickly," Rosalina says.

"But how? Who could possibly know about all of this?" Toadlia asks.

Then a thought comes to me.

"Of course! Dr. Toadley," I tell them.

"Good idea!" Toadlia says.

We run towards his clinic, and go inside. Luckily he is in.

"Ah, Princess. Haven't seen you in a while," he says.

"I need to know about the final battle," I tell him.

"I was wondering when you would ask about that. Anyway, I will tell you. A final battle between Light and Dark is approaching, and there is nothing that any of you can do to prevent it. You just need to make sure that it ends well...," he says.

"And the final key? The Raindrop Amulet? Who has it?" I ask.

"Ah... The final key has already been taken from it's hiding place, and is being closely guarded by someone here in the Mushroom Kingdom," he says.

"But who exactly?" I ask.

"I cannot tell," Dr. Toadley says.

"Oh. But what do I need to do now?" I ask.

"You must find the final key. But, your main task will be finding the third Mario Bro... That is the most important thing at the moment. If you want to know more, I recommend you ask Rosalina about what happened to the stars 15 years ago. Everything you seek is linked to that," he says.

"Ok," I say to him.

I leave the clinic. The first thing I do is ask Rosalina about the stars.

"Rosalina, what exactly happened to the stars 15 years ago?" I ask her.

Rosalina looks surprised.

"Why?" She asks me.

"Apparently it is linked to the final battle somehow," I tell her.

"Ok then. It might be better for me to show you this," Rosalina says.

She creates a portal and takes me, Toadlia and Lavender through it.

We then get transported to the Star kingdom. We are in space, with stars all around us. Then Rosalina points to a floating rock. It is glowing bright red, but is broken, and shards of it are floating everywhere.

"See that?" She asks me.

I nod.

"That Star exploded 15 years ago. It was one of the biggest stars I'd ever seen, and a lot of dark energy must have come out of it," Rosalina says.

"How is this linked to the keys and the third Bro though?" Toadlia asks.

"I don't know. But anyway, when a Star dies, the dark energy is transferred to someone else. Someone from our world. They receive special powers, and it can be good or bad," Rosalina says.

"So, that's the third Bro?" I ask.

"Yes. And the third Bro also has one of the other powers, either fire or water. That I do not know," Rosalina says.

"But about what Blizzard was saying? About the final battle approaching?" Lavender says.

"Yes. I guess we just have to make sure that we find this treasure in time!" Rosalina says.

We then go through another portal and end up back in the Mushroom Kingdom.

"We must search for the third Bro!" Toadlia says.

"Yes," Rosalina says.

We look around the Mushroom kingdom, but with no luck. Then suddenly I notice a small stream which I hadn't ever noticed before.

"That stream... I've never seen it before!" Lavender says.

"I haven't either," I say.

Then I notice something which is being pushed by the water in the stream. It's a small hat, identical to the ones which Mario and Luigi wear. I quickly grab it, and then run towards my castle in the distance.

"Wait! Peach! What is it?" Rosalina asks me.

"The third Bro... Is inside there,"

Sorry to everyone, but this Story is going to end quite soon! I'm hoping to make 30 chapters, but I'm not sure if I will... Anyway I left it on a cliffhanger for you .
