It was already dark outside, in the courtyard. The conforting light of the moon illuminating Alvena's path back into the castle. The first thing she realized once she stepped foot inside, was how empty and quiet the place was. She assumed it was already past the curfew and she had just a few minutes before the prefect found her.
She hurried through the various halls and down the dungeons. She hurriedly muttered the password to finally make it into the common room. The lights were all gone and the place seemed dimly lit by the reflection of the moon's brightness on the black lake. The fireplace had gone cold and sitting in front of it, on the dark leather couches was none other than Theodore Nott, head pulled down towards a book on his lap.
Alvena crept behind him, placing a soft hand on his shoulder which seemed to startle him slightly.
"Alvena, finally! I saw you walk out earlier, but you never made it back so I grew worried," he admitted sheepishly.
Alvena smiled at his word, grateful someone at least cared for her. "Thank you Theo, for everything."
The boy frowned at her reply but still responded with a confused: "your welcome?"
Alvena walked around the couch, sitting right next to the boy, close enough so that their knees could touch. They didn't exchange any word, not that they need to. It was just a peaceful silence.
Slowly the dark haired girl leaned over to lay her head into Theodore's shoulder, feeling him stiffens slightly at the move. Once she got comfortable, he finally relaxed and surprisingly reached out to lay his hand on her thigh.
"So, about your little trip to the black lake earlier," Theodore started the conversation with a slight chuckle. "Do you not know how to swim? Perhaps you need a tutor."
Alvena punched his shoulder playfully, picking her head up while she laughed. "Oh shut it Nott, I am a perfectly good swimmer! I just got carried away."
"Carried away, uh? Did you perhaps try to play mermaid?" He smirked back at her.
"No!" She laughed at his worst once again repeatedly punching his shoulder. At the third punch though, Theo furiously grasped on her wrist laying her movements and turning to her with a cold emotionless face.
"Are you trying to start a fight, Blythe?" He quirked a brow.
"Maybe..."
She suddenly attacked his sides with her fingers, tickling him all over under she was on top of him. As a way of défense her grabbed both of her hands and pulled her so he was the one on top and attacked her in her own ticklish spots.
Alvena's laugh echoed in the empty room like the song of a mermaid, enchanting anybody that was around. She quickly ran out of breath and pleaded her opponent to have pity on her. Theo stopped the torture, keeping his hands on the side of her waist while his eyes glanced at her now closed eyes.
Once she opened them she was met by his steel grey eyes, captivating her from the previous moment. She slowly felt one of his hand climb from the side of her body all the way to her cheek, grasping it gently. By now his gaze hand fallen down to her pink plump lips and hers had done the same.
Their bodies seemed to attract each other like magnet until both of their lips sealed the deal. They moved with one another, flowing like a river.
Alvena had always thought about her first kiss and how magical it would've been, she imagined the fireworks that would go out in her stomach and the warmth it would create. But somehow it didn't.
It wasn't not enjoyable. Theodore Nott was a lovely kisser, it just wasn't as magical as she what her mind made her think it would be.
After a few seconds, Theodore slowly pulled away keeping his eyes closed as if to make sure the moment would stay printed into his mind. On the other hand Alvena watched his eyes flutter open and offered a knowing smile, her rosy cheek hidden by the darkness of the room.
"So, about that-"
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He immediately cut her.
Taken aback out of shock, Alvena let the words fall out of her mouth without getting time to think about it, "yes..."
And with that confirmation Theo pulled her back in for the second kiss of the night.
