Chapter 26

You all stayed in silence. "Do you want us to grab the next person or...," Tsukishima spoke up, but your mind was trying to make sense of the situation. "Um, yeah, uh- sure," you say with your absent mind. The three exchange looks for the last time before grabbing their stuff to leave.

"Whoever is next, take it easy with Y/n," Kuroo says as his eyes flicker over to King. "She deserves a lot better from a lot of people here already." The room went back to silence as the boys grabbed all their things. King stopped her fidgeting and decided to stand up, but Oikawa held her hand. Hanamaki and Matsukawa had already stood up before King and headed into the kitchen next.

You hear the door open once more and watch the pair walk in. You take turns hugging them both before smiling at them softly. "So why were you guys called in?" you ask. "Oikawa wanted us to keep an eye on Iwa when he traveled, but we weren't arsed to stalk your love life," Matsukawa says, and you laugh. "You sure it wasn't because he got to me first?" you joke, and Hanamaki elbows him to tease him. "She has a point~," he says, instigating further.

"Well, she's not wrong, but I kinda wish I did," Matsukawa speaks out. You both stop with the jokes, and you look at him softly. "Look, the group knew that Kai was crazy, but we only thought it was because she was another Oikawa fangirl, so we never really took Oikawa's words seriously," he says.

"Iwaizumi is only good at being a gym instructor; he can't speak around girls for nothing—no offense," Hanamaki jokes, but Matsukawa also joins in. "Reasons why we never bring him to the two-man links, don't want him scaring women away from his awkwardness—again, no offense." You chuckle, thinking about how Iwaizumi would act around you when you were both young. "But it's not like we can do those anymore anyways," Matsukawa mumbles, but you catch onto his words.

"Hm? What do you mean?"

"Makkis' got a girl~"

You look at the two, unsure if it was a joke or not, not believing the two could stay in a committed relationship. "No, you're messing with me—who?" you ask, and he starts getting embarrassed. "I made it official with Shiloh," he says, and you feel like you are looking at a whole new person. "For real? Oh my gosh... sorry, I just didn't think a day like this would come—no offense, but congrats. I think I just gained some faith again," you joke.

"I'm just allowing him to enjoy his moment before I guide him back to the right path," Matsukawa shrugs off, and the two of you give him a dirty look. "Anyways, back to the topic of why you guys are here in the first place," you move back to.

"Yeah, it's just we should have at least taken your brother's words more seriously if we knew, especially since we were out with him and she was there. We would have kept our distance and nothing like this would have happened," Hanamaki says, and you shake your head at their words. "If you both came here to apologize, then I'm refusing it. Kai shouldn't be pulling such crazy tactics in the first place; none of you guys knew about her," you say back.

"Even still, Iwaizumi couldn't even confide in us about his messy situation, and that's the exact reason why. Our group doesn't take everything too lightly; we never made it a place for people to talk at. We all just insult and tease each other."

"Which is fun."

"Yeah, but we're getting older too. We should have that type of maturity already," Hanamaki says, and this time it was you and Matsukawa's turn to give him a dirty look. "Since when did your frontal lobe develop?" you ask, and Matsukawa shakes his head. "That's what maturity does to you? Spooky."

"If that's why you're here, then I don't see why you're talking to me about it. Iwaizumi needs to hear that more than me," you tell them both. "He has, it's just I know you also don't have a lot around you, and since the first party, I've been holding onto your business for you, so if you need to talk to someone who's been there since season one, then just call," Matsukawa says.
