Clover finishes packing a bag and puts on his boots as he gets ready to leave for a college trip to Washington D.C. "Do you have to go?" Martlet asked with a sad expression.

"It's only a week hun."

"A week is too long," Martlet said crossing her arms. "I don't get why I can't go with you."

"First of all, you have classes and work, second, school policy says for a man and a woman to stay in a room together, they have to be married."

"It makes me wish we were." A pout continued to form on the bird's face

"Patience Martlet; we still have school to get through, and then we need to secure our careers."

"So you're saying it's a possibility?" Martlet says blushing trying to hide a smile forming on her face

Clover chuckles and sighs as he looks at the blue bird. "Yes...it is a possibility." He observes Martlet begin to blush as she continues to try and hide her growing smile. "I'm gonna be late, I can't miss the bus."

"Wait, you're not driving your truck?"

"No, I have to ride with my classmates," Clover said with a disapproved sigh.

"That stinks."

"Quite literally," Clover said rolling his eyes

" At least you get to go with Asriel and MK."

"That's the only reason I'm not complaining about it."

"But I am, I don't want to be without my lucky Clover."

Clover blushed at the nickname. "I know you don't but I have to do this so we can graduate next year."

"Promise me you'll call every night."

"I promise," Clover said before pulling Martlet into a kiss. The two break the kiss as Clover grabs his bag and opens the front door. " I love you Martlet."

"I love you too Clover; be safe."

"I will." Martlet waves as Clover walks to his truck to drive to his campus and board the bus.

Martlet sighs as she begins to frown watching her lover leave.

"Please be safe."

Washington D.C

The bus door opens as Clover, Asriel, and MK exit. "Welcome to the Capital guys," Clover said with a chuckle.

"Man, this place is a lot different than back home," Asriel said looking around and observing all the monuments and historical structures.

"It's not as interesting as you think Az," Clover said shaking his head with a chuckle

"Well to me it could be, you're human you probably know more about this place than us." Asriel shook his head as he tried to defend his interest.

"And if you find it interesting that's good, but I've been here a bunch of times with my grandfather so it's not that different than the last time I was here."

MK tilts his head as he speaks. "But wouldn't this trip remind you of the good old days with your grandfather?"

Clover sighs as he begins to remember his old trips with his grandfather to the Capital. "I....I guess you're right MK."

"Well, we should start following the rest of the class so we don't get lost." Asriel said pointing to the rest of the class already halfway down the sidewalk."
